February 10, 20233 yr I've recently come across a video where this was showcased in an installation in Canada and since then I've not been able to stop thinking about the possibilities, especially for those perhaps with an existing pool pump already (or that's what I assume could be potentially used). Thoughts, comments, ideas? Dualsun Hybrid Solar Panel
February 10, 20233 yr Author Definitely. Thanks for the link. That's actually where I got the idea from. Didn't know they existed before this. Could be a gamechanger in terms of finally ripping down the dedicated roof space that's there for pool heating. Just gotta figure out if they are a) available in SA, b) affordable, c) what are the different options in terms of pumping/circulating, etc. Also never heard of the microinverters before, but i guess that's most likely for when you dont really have a battery bank feeding back and only want to push the power straight to the load and/or back to the grid Edited February 10, 20233 yr by TheRidDlerX Add microinverter section
February 10, 20233 yr Microinverters are mostly aimed at the MAXIMUM solar savings when there is a mains source since they individually track the mppt and provide optimal AC watts,as opposed to having a single shaded panel nuking a DC output string
March 6, 20233 yr Has anybody made progress on this, maybe found a local SA distributor? Also wonder if these can be used with normal Victron type MPPTs and inverter/chargers?
March 7, 20233 yr Author I actually contacted Dualsun in France to ask about this. Below their response Quote Thank you for your request and for your interest in DualSun! So far, we do not have any distributors in South Africa. But as the company is moving very quickly, I advice you to follow us on our social networks as it could change in few months (Facebook / Twitter / Linkedin). On our side, we will be able to contact you when we have found partner in your area. Best regards, They also then followed up with this - but not checked any of them out yet Quote So far, here the distributor that we have identified in South Africa : HydraTherm (Pty) Ltd http://www.hydrathermservices.com/ Magnet https://www.magnetgroup.co.za/ EESCO Pty Ltd http://www.eesco.co.za/ Pro Hydraulics http://www.prohydraulics.co.za/ UME https://www.ume-sa.com/
