February 13, 20233 yr Hi All i am looking for some advice please. I am undecided between one RCT Axpert MX2 8kv vs 2 Growatt 5kv inverters. Either option will cost me about the same but wanted opinions about either option. Option 1 with the RCT will give me a single 8kv inverter while Option 2 theoretically will give me 10kv with two Growatts together. I am new to Solar and starting with the inverter so any advice will be appreciated.
February 13, 20233 yr From a redundancy perspective, 2 is better than 1. None of us want our equipment to develop a problem, but that unfortunately happens. No Inverter is failsafe. If and when your single Inverter fails you are back on the grid until it is repaired or replaced. Should that happen with a dual Inverter installation you still have 50% of your power independence whilst the other 50% is repaired/replaced.
