Eskom has been awarded an 18.65% increase. Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town said it intends to increase tariffs by 17.6%. Time for residents to get that solar system... But I wish metros wouldn't announce increases in this way. Last year COJ announced a single %age, saying this was the increase in electricity billing. But that %age was not applied across all blocks of all tariffs. Not that I think it should be, but I suspect they announce an average or overall increase, and what you see on your bill and feel in your pocket might be either side of the announced figure.
