April 30, 20233 yr I've got the above combo. Inverter worked perfectly well with deep cycle batteries. Installed the Raystech now but can't find the Canbus protocol (51-65) to use. According to Solar-Europe Growatt uses 51, but that gives a comms error... Please help!
April 30, 20233 yr Have you confirmed the pinouts of the CAN RJ45 connector? If the cable is not made up to match the pinout of the battery with the Inverter, it will always have a comms error. Until that has been sorted it's best to use the system in USE mode and manually set the voltages to what the battery specs require.
April 30, 20233 yr Some batteries are 1 tot 1 with the Inverter BMS port. Most are not. When I say pin outs I meant the CAN-H and CAN-L pins. With CAN bus those are the only ones you really need. So as an example with my Inverter and Battery combo it is indeed a 1 to 1. You will need to check which pins on your battery side are CANH and CANL If those are not correct then comms are not possible.
May 1, 20233 yr Author Thanks kind forumite! My battery pins are indicated below. Sadly, there's no key to the abbreviations in the manual 😡😠
May 1, 20233 yr If your battery pin layout corresponds to the last schematic that you found, then you need to make up a cable Inverter Pin 4 - CANH - Pin 1 Battery Pin 5 - CANL - Pin 2 Pin 6 - Gnd - Pin 3
