May 28, 20233 yr Hello Everyone I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience with these inverters. I have a Growatt SPF5000ES and get error 51 'Over Current or Surge' when connecting the EARTH from the Eskom supply. I have disconnected everything from the inverter except the batteries, and as soon as I switch on the Eskom power to the inverter it gives me this error. When I disconnect the EARTH from Eskom's side and power it up there is no problem and the inverter works fine. Regards

Regards I suggest if you have a multimeter to measure the voltage between neutral and earth on the Eskom side. It should not the higher than 2 Volts
May 29, 20233 yr Author Hi Antonio, thanks for the suggestion. I see that I have 98 Volts between Neutral and Earth. 🙈 I imagine I should add bonding at my main DB box to fix this?

February 25, 20251 yr Hello everyone, I am having this error constantly now on my inverter, which causes it to do nothing. I would like to know how to resolve the issue. Here is what I have. -Growatt 12KW inverter -2 submersible pumps (5 HP and 2 HP) -16 solar panels of 450 W each. 8 panels for string of the inverter. Each solar panel is from the brand Amerisolar, model AS-7M120-HC 445W~460W. Open Circuit Voltage (VOC) = 41.4V , Current at Maximum Power (Imp) = 13.08A, Voltage at Maximum Power (Vmp) = 34.8V -A battery bank of 14.4 kWh. Each battery is from the brand Sunpal, model 6-GFM(G)-150Ah. 8 batteries in total (2 groups of 4 in series and a parallel among them; for a total of 48V) -A demand of 7.86 kW -An energy consumption of 14.4 kWh per day. I do not how the panels are connected among them, but I am planning to connect them this way. 4 panels in series + 2 in parallel + 2 in parallel (All of them in series). For obtaining this results: Open Circuit Voltage (VOC) = 248.4V and Voltage at Maximum Power (Vmp) = 207.6V. Values within the range of the inverter. Thank you in advance.
