May 30, 20233 yr Hi all I have an electric hob installed in my kitchen at the moment. Unfortunately when they fitted it years ago the granote cut-out was made "nommer pas" so now that I want to go gas I cannot find a hob that will fit - they are all about 10mm larger. Can the existing piece of granite be cut/grinded slightly large to fit the new hob? If so how is this done? Cheers Douw
May 30, 20233 yr It can be cut. The granite installers use a water-cooled diamond saw to do the cuts. Very dusty and messy job but it is quick. Depending on the location, they might need to remove the counter top and replace and re-do the epoxy joints once they are done

I cut with using baby angle grinder with diamond cutting disc in situ. Problem is dust , but just deal with it Edited May 30, 20233 yr by BritishRacingGreen
