Market for slightly used equipment

Featured Replies

What is the market like for slightly used equipment?

I am looking at upgrading, but it might make financial sense to toss out what I already have and replace with new, rather than add on to what I already have.

Could anyone give me a rough price on what I could ask for this equipment. And also recommend a place to sell it?

2x Pylontech US3000C batteries.

2 or 3 x 420w Canadian solar super high power poly PERC HiKU with EVO2.

All equipment is approximately 28 months old. Batteries have not been used hard at all.

My input will be from seeing how equipment is sold in the classifieds is if you have true stats from batteries and here we have to say for the Pylontech its important to see to what level they were charged and what current or load did they drive.

Guys with honest stats managed to sell their 2nd hand equipment for prices that are fair.

Outdated older equipment without comms seems to be a problem even if great brands. All in one box is in fashion for good reason.

Panels there could still be a risk even if not old. Priced at 66% of current price is my guess. For sure not 66% from what they cost new or even more than current new as I have seen under classifieds.

How would I get the battery stats?

Something like this from Solarman?

Doesn't show current, but shows they are barely used. My area isn't subject to loadshedding, so they stay full. The only times I use them are when we have our Pretoria east outages.

I suspect panels are going to be a harder sale these days with the 25% tax rebate on new panels available. Unless someone is looking for the specific panels to match with an existing setup, you'd need to drop prices quite a bit on used panels, and/or include all the mounting hardware/etc..

Thanks a million for making your spare panels available.

They are performing very well. Output now 572W for the 2. Pic was taken 10min earlier.
