Sunsynk Non-Essential Solar Feed

Featured Replies

Hi All

hoping someone can help me here. I have a 5kva Sunsynk inverter, a 5kva Sunsynk battery and 8 solar panels. It’s working very well on the essentials but is not using any solar capacity to power non essential demand even when there is plenty excess capacity.

i have set my work mode to zero export and solar export is ticked. Inverter power limiter is set to zero. My understanding is that with these settings, non essentials should be supplemented by solar. I then set inverter power limiter to 2000, the solar immediately bumps up to meet that demand and the wattage is pushed to the grid.

any suggestions as to why the non essential demand is not being picked up?

thanks very much

Dustin

Have you fitted the CT between main incoming power from grid and your main switch. This is the only unit together with the right settings to prevent feeding to the grid.

And the CT arrow must point away from the grid infeed.

If all installs have the CT fitted less people will have problems on their systems.

Hi DustinS,

You would be looking at the 2nd pic here...Zero Export is the only setting that should be ticked and as Scorp007 says check your CT Coil and if its installed correctly.
Solar Export should not be ticked, if it is it will export the power to the grid.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I will give this a try tomorrow. I have now turned solar export off. Current settings shown below. Assuming CT Coil is correctly installed, anything else I need to change?

Great thank you. In order to function correctly, must I set a max sell power?

with your settings, will your battery be used to power non essentials? I would only want excess solar capacity to power them
