It sounds like previously you had an inverter where you set priorities. Things work differently on a Sunsynk. The first question to ask is whether you want to sell/export energy?

You can read under the inverter section and find many configurations where other members asked how to do the settings. Numerous examples of the different screens as a guidance.

September 1, 20233 yr The CT is also important for feeding energy in to your non-essential loads (geyser, pool, etc.). After that you can enable the timer under system mode to let the battery run down at night and charge with solar during the day.
September 1, 20233 yr On the inverter you have the option to select grid charging or not with these time slots. Solar will always be maximized but with limited essential loads and no exporting to non essentials, you can only charge the battery to 100%. Typically you want to allow for grid charging to 100% in the afternoon, keep it at 100% until 22:00. Then allow it to run down to 50% at 05:00. These setpoints will vary depending on your loads, PV size and battery size. How much PV do you have and what is your base load?
September 1, 20233 yr I have 4500watts installed (8x 550w panels) base load is low (only 2 people in household) so around 450w to 500w my electricity is paid for me, hence wanting to use solar during day, then eskom, then only battery (during load shedding). And I guess that Energy Pattern should remain on Priority Batt not Priory Load?Thanks Edited September 1, 20233 yr by Jostian

If I made all time slots 100% for SOC would they me that battery would only run if eskom was off (load shedding)?

Apologies for the naive questioning, I really know very little, only installed the system yesterday, and then saw the battery being used this eve, even though there is eskom power. Thanks
