October 13, 20232 yr Hi, busy with backup power in outbuilding and not sure where to tap the L and N from to the pilot lights. See pic, I'm thinking to take it from the bottom of the changeover switch?

This way it will show the status of both supplies.

Now the red, must it indicate mains to inverter or must it indicate ESKOM mains (top or bottom of MCB)?

If you wire the red on the input to inverter bottom of MCB then it can only be on if the mains is on as this is the Mains input to the inverter.
