New Sphere 5.12kWh?

Featured Replies

Heya... new poster here (been reading up on here for quite a while).

Over the last year, while I save up, I've been tracking the prices of the system I'd like to put together. I'll probably make another post asking for input on my thinking, and finding an installer. Anyway... until now, I've been watching the price drops on the SolarMD 14.2kWh battery with great interest. Tonight I saw a New Sphere 5.12kWh battery, and 3 of them come in way under the SolarMD 14.2kWh.

I can't find anything online about them. They are obviously a rebranded battery from China or somewhere, but does anyone have any information on how well they work or have them installed? Would stacking 3 of these together beat a SolarMD 14.2?

Check that the batteries are compatible with your inverter. What you don't want is problems with the system and the guys who make the inverter say "well we don't know anything about that battery" and/or the guys who make the battery saying "we don't know anything about that inverter".

This may exclude some of the more attractively priced batteries, but my experience tells me that if the battery and inverter co-exist happily then your co-existence with the system will be happier.

Appreciate the reply. I was thinking either the Sunsynk 5kW Hybrid (x 2), or today I saw a very good write up on here about the Solis S6 Pro (perhaps 2x 6kW). I suppose I'd need to reach out to those companies ad check compatibility.

Sunsynk Is Fully Compatible With The SolarMd But Not Really Sure With The New Sphere Brand Its Not On The Approved Inveter List, Sungrow Is Also Compliant With The Solar MD And In The Cape Heroldt, Segen Do Stock Them

Would Advice

Sunsynk With

Sunsynk Batteries, Solar MD, BSL Batt

Deye With

Deye 6kwh Batt, Volta Stage 1,2,3(the cheaper alternative to sunsynk, perfomance is almost the same other than the SoC drift that is usually soughted out with a firmware update)
