Solar Assistant Totals - doubts -

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I have a some questions about totals in Solar Assistant

1. The "Load" is the total amount consumed, why does it not include the value when it is only on battery? If it also includes part of what is consumed.

2. The "Solar PV" includes what is consumed in the "Load" plus a little of the inverter consumption, but it does not include the battery charge?

3. The "Used Grid" is the used part of the network but it is not clear if it is part of the "Load".

Hello there,

As far as I understand it:

Load: Total energy out the inverter on the AC

Solar PV: Total energy in the PV inputs of the inverter

The load does not include inefficiencies in converting the DC to AC.

The solar PV is a total of the input, before inefficiencies of transforming/converting the PVdc to BATdc or ACout.

In your case, 7.2kWh was made up of 4.4kWh from the battery bank, and (7.2-4.4=2.8)kWh from PV. The rest of the solar (6.8-2.8=4)kWh was used to charge the batteries.

All of this is not including the losses. Not all 4.4kWh went from the battery bank to the load, and not all 4kWh went from PV to the battery bank, and not all 2.8kWh powered the load.

I do not know about Grid used, because I am off-grid, and have never had an input to the AC of the inverter, but assume it would be the same as if you connected a 230V AC "PV" to the ACin of your inverter. That is, it would provide for the "Load" as well as to charge the battery bank.

There is a warning at the bottom of that screen:

I have a SunSynk, and the Load and Grid Used seem to be reasonably correct compared to two DDS238-2 meters that I have.
