Hi Guys, Ive added a new battery and some new panels. My automation with SA seems to not switch to grid when batteries reach a certain point. Has anybody seen this before or is my automation rules buggy? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Everyone, I've got a relatively new setup with a Deye inverter, 20 no. JA SOLAR JAM60D40 500W panels and a Felicity battery. Two strings of panels, one facing East, the other West - equal split. I've got SA setup and running, using a Y-splitter cable (RS port on inverter split and one cable to SA RPi, the other cable to the battery). Readings et al seem fine, but I'm having a little trouble setting up the forecast on the dashboard. Display Settings Max grid power 5000 Max solar PV power 10000 Max battery power 16000 Solar prediction enabled Configuration > Advanced Lat & Long (correct, and checked) - based in central Poland Tilt 25.0 Azimuth 0.0 Temp coeffic…

Hi, Hope I am posting this in the correct place. I have got Solar Assistant to load on my Raspberry Pi 3+ after a lot of effort. I can log in but I am not seeing any data in the dashboard, is this normal on the trial? I am connected to my Axpert Mk1 5Kw inverter through the USB port. I have tried 4 different cables, all tested and working as data cables, but still not seeing any info. Can anyone offer any advice, or do I have to buy the full version to get data to show. I thought it would at least show me data but not allow me to control anything in the inverter. Does it only really work with the RS232 cable? Also I have the option to access Inverter, Grid and Battery, b…

Good morning There are 4 x 5kW SHOTO SDA10 batteries Battery 1 is connected to its RS485A port via a Shoto/Rentech LAN cable that was purchased in March 2025. Batteries 2, 3, 4 are connected from RS485B on battery 1 in a chain. All LAN cables test ok This what is visibile on the configuration page Tapping Disconnect has no reaction The other measurements: Solar PV, Load are correct Any suggestions about how to get this working?

Hi All, I am running 2 Deye 12k Inverters as Master/Slave using Solar Assistant <> Home Assistant. I would like to put an automation in place which switches the inverters to standby mode after sunset when the battery is empty. I just can not find the switch tho change the Deye 12K inverters to standby. Gemini insists that there should be either a "Inverter Power" or "System Mode" Setting(apparently referring to modbus register 80) somewhere in Solar Assistant which I cant seem to find. Can you please advise where I can find the setting or how I put my inverters into standby remotely? Thank you very much & Best Regards, Daniel

I bought two of these to try and manage TOU discharge scheduling for two Sunsynk devices. I did some research beforehand and understood that I could enable MQTT on each SolarAssistant device and point them to a broker in the cloud and then configure the rules table on each device from there. However, it appears the only MQTT option is for the SA device itself to be a broker. Am I able to achieve scheduled charge and discharge on a SunSynk by controlling Solar Assistant remotely over MQTT or REST-API or otherwise?

I have an 8kw Deye setup and thinking about getting Solar Assistant to schedule changes of the work mode (zero export to load/CT). I have not seen any evidence that you can actually do this on Solar Assistant. Can someone please confirm if this is possible? I don't have the installer permission on the inverter so the Deye Cloud or Solarman Business is not an option. What I want to achieve is use the PV during the day to power the geyser which is non essential but don't want it to only power essential loads when PV is not available. This works when manually switching work modes but want to be able to control remotely or schedule this.

Hi We recently (27th of June) had our house put on backup power with a Deye SUN-8K-SG01LP1 and 2x Deye SE-G5.1 Pro batteries. Batteries are connected with 50mm² cable and 250A knife switch fuses. Specs: Installation: Here are my experiences thus far It talks to the inverter via CAN BUS via the PCS port. The PCS port has the following PIN out I've successfully connected it with solar assistant via CAN but the information gained isn't as detailed as I'd have hoped for. Here is the battery screen in solar assistant with inverter values via CAN => Inverter Strangely ever since I plugged…

Afternoon - new here and got a solar system installed last week. I have installed solar assistant and one thing that bothers me is that the prediction vs actual for solar are completly off - looks like the time is oincorrect or something. For example for today I have this: I have gone into the settings and set the gps location of my house, the tilt angle (as measured on the roof vs horizontal) and then I went into open street map and measured the azimuth at 60 degrees using the calculater as below (red is where on the roof my panels are: So my final settings are: This still produces the prediction above. It very much looks to me like the prediction is being done in th…

I am busy finalising planning for the installation of my first solar system, and intend to make use of SolarAssistant. For several reasons (which we do not need to get into) I would prefer to run CAT6 ethernet cable from the SA Raspberry Pi to my router, and I have seen several people on this forum suggest it (e.g. in this thread). Originally I had planned to route the CAT6 into the ceiling through the same trunking as the cables to/from the inverter, however over the weekend I came across a blog post and accompanying YouTube video saying that this is a very bad idea, since the electrical cables generate an electrical field (EMI/EFI), which can cause data loss or corrup…

I have noticed that Solar Assistant considerably underreads my Grid used in the past eight months Sunsynk app shows 1033 units used in the past eight months Mogale meter shows 1008 units used in the past eight months Solar assist shows 746 units used in the past eight months that equates to a 38% under reading Solar Assistant website "Contact us" doesn't work so I am not sure how to fix this error

Hello all, I have been trying to parse the backups I have taken of my system, but it appears as though a lot of the measurements are just not included in the backups. Specifically, it appears only combined measurements exist: Field Keys > show field keys name: AC output voltage fieldKey fieldType -------- --------- inverter_0 float inverter_1 float name: Battery current fieldKey fieldType -------- --------- inverter_0 float inverter_1 float name: Battery power fieldKey fieldType -------- --------- combined integer name: Battery power hourly fieldKey fieldType -------- --------- combined float name: Battery power in hourly fieldKey fieldType -------- ------…

Hi guys, Hands up who has a solis s6 pro and is using solar assistant. I'm hoping a few of us.. I have my setup reporting but as of yet there is no ability for the user to adjust the inverter setting or for solar assistant to based on solar assistant setting. One of the best features of SA to my mind is the time. Of use/soc setting.. Hopefully SA will see the value it working on this and making it available as a feature soon..

Morning All, Did a beta software update of SA on Friday and noticed that now the Software version field on the Configuration is not showing. Anyone else with this issue? Not sure now how the next update would be done as the field does not show anymore? Have done a reboot, shutdown and restart and reported the issue to SA. MdF

Hello, This is more of a feature request, but also a question if it is feasible. Sometimes, I run my Kodak 7.2 OG with a generator attached in order to charge the batteries a bit faster than just solar. However, one of Kodak's fatal flaws is not having a setting for the AC in max current. So, for my 5kVA generator, I set the max "utility" charge current to 30A (2 Kodak's in parallel), but, if our load gains an extra 1kW, then the generator cuts out. So, if possible, it would be nice to have an automation to adjust the max utility charge current on the condition of the load. That way, I could decrease the charge current. Is this just not an optio…

Hello all, I came across a product from a company named Plentify that basically let's your inverter en geyser talk to each other. However it rather expensive. These are the main functions I would want to try and replicate from there system: To switch your geyser off as soon as you pick up that the grid power goes down from the inverter. Without having to run wire to your inverter to create an non essential circuit. This is the more tricky one. I want to try and prevent my inverter from tripping due to overload. Now a normal inverter has a max power output just above it's rated power output however it has a peak power output it can sustain for about 10s of about 2x it rate…
