I accidentally lost power to my raspberry pi and since then it seems to be randomly disconnecting from my WiFi, and not being able to connect via Bluetooth either, forcing yet another power cycle. Any suggestions on log retrievals and review etc. to try figure out what's going on? [Pi is right next to an AP, and all other clients still connected].

Has anybody managed to connect a Pylontech UP 2500 with a Solar Assistant instance on RPi. I’ve tried RJ11 to USB on Console port and RS485 with all the different options on SA. I either get a Rejected or No Response error, whatever I try. any help would be great. Thank you.

Hi all, I have two axpert (Mecer branded) inverters. They were installed to work in parallel. Multiple Pylontech batteries and obviously panels (Canadian Solar and/or JA Solar) I have Solar Assistant software installed to control the system. It used to be that when I go to the gear icon, and then tap on settings (below Inverter) that I would see the work Configuration on the new page, with a drop-down for the two inverters next to it. I could then select one of the inverters, and its info would be shown below, with the ability (specifically) to change CHARGER SOURCE PRIORITY from Solar, to Solar and Utility, to Solar First etc. Recently (I think i…

Hello, I asked the developers to add the L2 output setting, especially the operating range setting (Parameter 62) but they do not take my request seriously. If anyone is in the same situation as me, also make the request so that things move forward. Thanks

I have commercial battery packs with PACE BMS, and I have DIY batteries with JK BMS. I connect all of them on a common busbar. I would like the best solution to get info on each pack, and to provide required info to Sunsynk 5kW inverter. What would you suggest. I have thought of: 1) Connecting all to SolarAssistant but apparently it can only communicate using one protocol at this time. It may be on a future development roadmap to be able to select multiple different BMS's, and combine them all into SolarAssistant. 2) I thought of installing a Victron Smart Shunt and connect to SolarAssistant. I would lose sight of individual packs but at least I can get si…

Hello All, I am wondering if the parameter of the actual solar wattage can be considered in automation. I make a rule table, for output source priority, based on Battery percent, but I would like to also include the solar wattage: - 0W to 2000W: Utility - 2000W to 3500W: SUB - 3500W and above: SBU is it possible? thanks a lot

Dear forum members, I have Deye 10K- 3 phase inverter connected with 30kWh batteries. Help me to validate correct automation setup to charge battery from grid during 4pcs cheapest hours (up to 100% SOC) and discharge during rest of 5-24hours until 15% SOC. Thanks, Mark

I asked Solar Assistant support if there is a chance that they would add some configuration option for the Growatt SPF 5000 ES. But maybe the task can be achieved via the automation options as well? I would very much like to have control over the AC output. So either it would be helpful to adjust the time when AC output starts and stops (Option 50, please see attachment - at least adjustable via mqtt) or a switch to manually switch on/off AC output (guess that would be difficult using MODBUS on the Growatt SPF 5000 ES). Reason is, that the Growatt inverters use a lot of power even in standby as long as the inverter circuit for AC output is active. And it depends…

Hi all, I just got my solar assistant installed alongside my 2x SPF5000 ES inverters and also have the pi hooked up to my twin LBSA bms and I must say it is working wonders! Especially with the MQTT running beautifully between solar assistant and Hassio. My question here is, can I power the raspberry pi from the usb port on one of my inverters? As I am using the usb B ports to hook into the pi and the standard usb port is now free (meaning that bulky data logger is out of the way), would I be able to plug in a usb to usb-c cable to power the pi? Thanks in advance.

I have three Bluenova BN52V-100-5.2k BP batteries connected to Solar Assistant (and an Axpert Max MKS2-7200 inverter). System is running but SA shows one battery pack and oeports only 200Ah of the 300Ah available. Battery info: Bluenova BN52V-100-5.2k BP (all series 6622) No COMM cable between Inverter and batteries (tried a RS485 with pins 2 and 1 connected to the pins 5 and 3but didn't help) Batteries are connected in parallel using the batteries' CAN ports Batteries' master / slave dip switch settings set to 1 for master, 2 for first slave, 1+2 for second slave) I have reset the batteries following the…

Folks, Good morning. i've been running solar assistant on a orange pi LTS for a while with no issues, and yesterday unfortunately the mecer inverter was giving an error, and i decided to reboot everything (inverter, batteries) to include the Orange pi, and the orange pi didn't come back up. Tried a bunch of things, like replacing the ethernet cable (from router to pi), different power supply, still nothing. I can ping the device, and it does start up solar assistant partially. I can access the dashboard, but if i click on Charts, totals or configuration tab, it just errors out, which pointed me to either a failing / bad Orange pi or a possibly corrupt OS / Micr…

Afternoon All, So, did the recent beta software update for SA on Saturday morning. The system didn't reboot. Couldn't connect via blooteeth either (which usually is the option used to reboot when the system gets "stuck"). This morning I tried my hand at installing a new Image on the Pi. Found myself a 32Gb SD card and did the neccessary Flashing etc. TBH, I amazed myself that it worked. I now have the system up and running again so have taken it that the old SD card was corrupted or damaged during the software install phase. But when doing the flashy thingy, I see that I do have some other 128Gb SD cards available. Wanted to ask here if they can be used for…

Good morning I have been running my SA for about 3 years on a "Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.2". I would like to add a screen to monitor the software, but can not see where to configure this. My current setup is: System Localization: English, Africa/Johannesburg Time: 15 Oct, 09:28 Services: Web, Bluetooth CPU Temperature: 56.0 °C USB devices: 5 - view detail Storage: 18% of 16G - view detail Device board: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.2 Software version: 2024-09-30 I am on the BETA program. My next question is, is there a way to "export/import" my configuration if I reload the SA image (64 bit) onto a new SD card? Thank you for your t…

Hi, i have an Growatt SPH 8000 and a second inverter from Homyiles. I have two SmartMeter – one for Growatt itself (for monitoring Load, Solar Power etc…) and one SmartMeter to monitor the Homyiles and this one is connected to the Growatt SPH (485-2 Port) (so that i can see in the Growatt interface the Hoymiles Inverter als „additional Power“) => Here you can see on the right side in the Growatt Online Portal that the Growatt is earning 0,2kw and the Homyiles 0,03kw….the Solar Assistant is only seeing the solar earnings from the Growatt SPH and not from the Hoymiles. You see the „missing“ energy from the Homyiles also in the solar ass…

A friend is keen on buying SA based on the views I have on my single phase inverter, but he was asking about views available on the 3 phase unit, e.g. are there chart views for power per phase as well as a combined view, or perhaps only one of the former? Also, what is displayed on the default dashboard view? Can anyone perhaps assist with some images of their views available on SA on a 3 phase Sunsynk? TIA.

Good day to all, How do we connect the inverter to the Raspberry PI? Already made a cable from inverter to battery. As we can see, the cable is connected from the BMS 485/CAN to A/CAN and works 100%. The battery is connected to the Raspberry Pi. Still working. Can read the battery values in Solar Assistant. Now I need to connect the Inverter to the Raspberry Pi. Will just adding the RS232 to USB cable work?. Logic tells me it should work, but its always nice to hear from someone that has already done it. Yes, I will be removing the data logger from the Sunsynk. Their software does not update fast enough and do…
