Solar Assistant

I purchased solar assistant recently and it works really well with home assistant / MQTT. The issue that im having is inside the energy dashboard and adding sensors. There are non available for use. I read the solar assistant docs and they indicate that sensors should be available for use. https://solar-assistant.io/help/home-assistant/energy Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT : PROBLEM MOSTLYSOLVED. TURNS OUT THE ROUTER WAS CONSTANTLY CHANGING THE IP ADDRESS OF THE RASPBERRY EVERY TIME POWER FAILED. FYI: SA does not control your inverter fully. I've been trying to change output source priority in SA to no avail. Got an email this morning from Pierre at support saying the software is not supposed to change how the inverter behaves, it can only change certain values. Im thinking here he means say battery volts etc. Thought this would be useful to people thinking about buying it. The graphs and data are great though. And for R900 not so bad.

So i see some folks are able to get switches for the inverter in HA. I have an axpert/voltronic and only shows sensors. I did see this on the solar-assistant website - which could possibly be a means to controlling an axpert from HA. Does anyone know where this code goes? I simply would just like to setup an automation that changes from solar to utility 2 hours before loadshed kicks in.

Have a smallish inverter and solar setup and looking to optimize via software. Does anyone know if its possible to set an automation in Home Assistant via Solar Assistant for instance: When PV input drops below 50w, within 2 hours of load shedding, to charge battery via utility only? Guess the main thing here is does SA allow these sorts of changes via HA? Many thanks

Hi Guys, I have noticed that the radiator temperature displayed by Solar Assistant seems way out compared to the values that I get from the Solarman Smart app and my node-red modbus readings. Any one else noticed?

Hi, What is the easiest / most effective way to compile own charts or editing existing ones? There are some charts where I want additional data on the chart and it doesn't seem possible to do. Downloading data, one by one, converting to numbers and making charts is not effective.

Hey guys i noticed on Solar Assistant website that the raspberry pi 1 is not officially supported however “has been used by some users” just wondering if any of you have had experience with this? I have a spare pi 1b around so would prefer to use that instead of purchasing a new one. im thinking of going this route and integrating SA into home assistant to be able to read and write in real time back to my Deye 5kw inverter. thanks for your help

Hi, I've been running SA for almost 12 months on a Pi B4, very happy with it. I now have a 2nd system up and running as a backup, Panels, MPP Solar 5 kW inverter, 4 x LFP batteries and a Victron BMV smart shunt. What I'd like to know is whether I can connect the no2 system to the Pi or do I need to purchase a new Pi and run a 2nd instance with a separate URL? Thanks, Keith

Anyone else not able to access their SolarAsssitant using the custom URL? My unit is definitely up and running becuase my HomeAssistant is communicating with it and I am able to access it externally via DuckDNS and internally via my home network range.

Noticed that solar assistant just stopped this morning at 5am. I cant connect to it via bluetooth to check what happened. I see its connected to the network and is assigned an IP. Not sure what to do next.

I have used my phone (iPhone) for Solar Assistant since getting SA. All of a sudden this week I got an error as per screenshot below: Has anyone experienced this or has an idea how to fix it? The same appears on the Graphs tab.

I have a raspb pi that i cant connect to. Its getting power but no response, even tried re-flashing the sd card with new files from solar assistant using recommended program for doing so. But nothing no wifi, bluetooth and no ethernet connection any advice.

Hi all, not the sharpest pencil in the case, but please help... I want to order a Pi from solar-assistant for monitoring purposes. I can see from their web shop they have the option of a power supply that takes 9-60Volt dc that can connect to the battery so that I dont need a plug close to the inverter itself. Where do I connect this power supply to he inverter? Anyone running this setup? I have 4 Sohto batteries in a cabinet. Also can it co-exist with the existing dongle already installed?

Solar Assistant installed and up and running 24 hours now. I notice the following message in the Config page though ......... Should I go ahead and update ? What changed ?

Hi Guys please assist. I have an Rasb Pi with Solar Assistant installed(bought it complete form Solar assistant) It was running fine for months but currently I am having some issues. I am not sure if it is unresponsive or what. I am getting to following message and then I need to power down the unit by unplugging the power supply to get it running again "Unable to connect to monitoring device. Please check device internet connection" If it is available it is also slow to respond when i switch between Tabs. It also shows Error messages on the graphs even when online. Hi guys, was wondering if anyone have experience with the solar assistant and is it recommended over the ICC software? Like most Pi/icc users im having issues with the system. Software keeps restarting leading to loss of trends etc. My ICC software is the centurion solar version, so no updates available. Please assist
