Good day, I have a Kodak OG5.48 with raspberry pi and solar assistant. It has been running great for months until a few weeks ago. I usually forced my system to Utility for an hour to force charge the battery, recently after this 1 hour period the inverter stays in grid mode and doesn't go back to battery mode like in the past. Any advise? Thanks

Hi guys. I've been running on the Betas for a while and noticed that I can't update the timers any longer in the power tab - it just reverts back to the original value when attempting to save. If I change it on my Sunsynk itself, it does save, and eventually populates correctly in the power tab on Solar Assistant. I recently upgraded to the latest Beta, but haven't changed the timer in quite a while, so can't say for sure if it's the new Beta version. Any others that have perhaps experienced similar? Thanks

I changed my MAX CHARGE rate in SA for my pip5048mg from 80 to 60 amps and it changed just fine. (don't ask why I did this, i feel stupid enough already) I then realized that I had made a mistake and went to change it back to 80amps. keeps failing. I would just walk up and do it from the inverter itself, but it is about 1,500 miles from where I am. Any idea why this may have happened? I can change all other battery settings without issue, just not this one setting. Thanks in advance

I have 2x Rebel Max Inverters (just voltronic rebrands). I am currently running on beta software on Solar assistant (27-09-2023). But this issue has been like this for the past 2 versions or so I feel. So what happens is - if I am up late at night and I know its going to be quite a sunny ay the next day, I switch the inverters to SBU to run the household off the batteries to run them down to about 50% or so - because we produce power in excess, if we dont do this - we are essentially dumping power. I changed the output source priorty to SBU (from USB). This does what I expect, starts drawing power from the batteries instead - all is well. Then the weir…

During a reboot of my SA (Orange Pi) the power was interrupted and when I tried to reboot, I got the following on the kiosk display. ... Begin: Running/scripts/local-block... done. Begin: Running /scripts/local-block Begin: done. Running/scripts/local-block... done. Begin: Running/scripts/local-block... done. Begin: Running/scripts/local-block done. Begin: Running /scripts/local-block done. done. Gave up waiting for root file system device. Common problems: - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline) Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?) - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules: ls /dev) ALERT! /dev/mmcblk0p1 do…

Hi, I installed solar assistant (pre installed on orange PI 4 LTE, to collect data from my Deye 12 /3f (*2 parallel), and selected read inverter data. all worked at the fly. The web interface runs like sunshine. I did the same at my neighbours house, but no feed at all on rs485, feed worked on rs232, but grid data are missing. I am a novice, but 2 same setups, same orang pi's, same cables, and no extra config. What could hv been wrong ? Penny fr your thoughts

Good day, Is it possible to access the timer interval start times via MQTT for a Deye inverter? I can see the actual capacity points but not the timer times? Not sure if you would need a separate config for that? The idea is to adjust the capacity points and times based on a home profile. Kind Regards, Neill

I'm interested in knowing if anyone has setup Solar Assistant with Home Assistant for a Luxpower SNA 5000? It looks like a good way to add the Inverter to the Home Assistant Dashboard, if there are other ways I'd definitely be keen to try options. So far this is the best one I've been recommended. https://solar-assistant.io/

I just replaced my older MPP Solar inverter with a PAIR of MPP Solar LV6548 inverters and now in the charts screen I have noticed an error that was making my head spin a bit. To explain my solar has three arrays, each pointing a different direction. East, South, West. This is due to available roof area mostly. Now my older 5048MG only had one MPPT Input, so the charts we pretty simple, but the LV6548 has 2 on each (4 in total) So if you look at the picture, you'll see MPPT 1 and MPPT 2. Each chart has inverter 1 & 2 Now in my setup, I am only using 3 of the 4 mppt inputs. I am using 1 & 2 of inverter 1, and only 1 on inverter 2. MPPT 1 is actu…

Good day, I have an axpert inverter connected to three 5kWh Rentech batteries. There is no comms between the inverter and batteries. Solar Assistant is connected to the batteries via the correct cable ordered from the website. I can however only see the info of the master battery and not of the slaves. If I however log onto the master battery with pbms tools on a laptop I can see the info of the slave batteries as well so I think the communication between the batteries is fine. Any ideas of what could be the issue?

Hello, I recently installed my solar system (Deye and 2X shoto 5.1kw) and currently using the Solarman Smart app version. I have a few issues with it: Refresh rate is only 20min odd, so not really real time Cannot do details analysis etc etc What alternatives do I have to get more real time information and be able to do more analysis to better understand my usages so I can intervene at the correct times to reduce my reliance on Eskom. Thanking you in advance

What would a reasonable price be if you get someone out to install Solar Assistant? Keep in mind the Software is a set price. 1. Raspberry PI 2. Cabling 3. Labour Would the size of the system matter? Should it be charged at Small, Medium and Large? Thoughts?

Hey, I am just wondering if anyone has run into this and perhaps found a solution... So this is a Deye 10kW 3P, connected via the BMS with a splitter to SolarAssistant. But it keeps giving a CRC error: The unit is reading and everything seems fine but it keeps giving this error and I cant seem to get it to go away... Anyone else seen this?

Hi guys I have an 8kw SunSynk inverter and a 5kwh SunSynk battery as a loadshedding backup. I got a Solar Assistant Pi installed and it's running great, but it's powered off a wall plug for now. I would like to neaten up the installation and run it off the DC power supply hooked up directly to the battery. However, I can't quite see where to attach those two little round ferrules to the battery. The terminals on the battery are huge, and the terminals on the inverter too. My installer didn't install a breaker between the inverter and the battery - so I'm lost as to where I'm supposed to connect this power supply. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Morning all, I setup Mqtt on HA and it was working beautifully the whole day, I even started getting values in the Energy Dashboard all pulling through from Solar Assistant. Went to bed, last values I checked were 190W load, wake up this morning and check and everything is the same values still, frozen in time. So I restarted HA and everything in between and now get blank figures and errors that the entity value is non-numeric. Solar Assistant is working great on its own web app. Everything else in HA works perfectly. --- This in total is what I've done to try resolve the issue: Restarted Mqtt add-on Restarted Home Assistant Li…

I have a 2x Expert King 5000w in parallel with 3x Revov batteries. I have bought the new Solar Assist Soft with the Axpert communication cable and Revov communication cable. The communication cable connected to the usb rasberry pi unit and to the Expert King work excellent and i can see the second inverter and specs. The battery communication cable connection to the usb rasberry unit and the Revov main battery. But it does not want to connect. I tried all the cable option, with no success, this option the only one connecting, but just keeps on there. I can use the Solar Assist soft setting via the inverters, but not very reliable, or the emulated…

Hi Guys, I have successfully Connected my 5kw Sunsynk inverter to solar assistant. I have also connected the battery through the RS232 port directly to solar assistant. But solar assistant shows the capacity as only 70ah and not 100Ah. This is a Sunsynk 5.32kwh battery. It is connected to the RS232 port as per the instructions on the Solar assistant website. https://solar-assistant.io/help/battery/sunsynk. So my SOC is showing up wrong in the attached screenshot because the battery capacity is wrong. It should be 84% and not 120%. When I select "use inverter values“. Everything seems fine. All the other values also tie up with what the inverter is …
