anyone know where I can get an MPPT for an Axpert MKS 4 5.5Kw inverter

Featured Replies

Hello All

I have an Axperet MKS 4 5.5 Kw inverter that seems to have an issue with the mppt. I am reluctant to send it back to the supplier as I have heard that they sell second hand and repaired stuff as new and my suspicion is that this was exactly what I got. I will not go into the long running issues I have had with them but needless to say I will not be getting them to repair it.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get an new mppt for this inverter and how difficult it would be to fit it if I did. I have been lead to belive it is a module/board that can be swapped out but that is as far as I have got to date.

I am in the UK and despite a number of posts on the uk solar forum I have not been able to get any further advice.

I am willing to be guided on this topic as I am new to this solar stuff and I still have a re flash to do on the inverter to treble check it is not the software. Coulomb kindly provided the software update so I still have to get round to doing this in the meantime.

Many thanks in advance as ever

I am not sure about MKS4 5.5kw. The ones we get in South Africe is MKS4 5.6kw. Its also marketed here as a Kodak OGS5. 6.

Unfortunately you are in UK. Below is link for the mppt board from GeeWizz in SA.its sold by various shops and the supplier is SegenSolar.

https://www.geewiz.co.za/inverter-replacement-parts/176692-kodak-mppt-board-for-ogs56.html

If you inquire, check their board model number against yours.

No, its not difficult to replace this module.

Hello BritishRacingGreen and thanks for the reply.

I think my typing needs attention, it is an MKS4 5.6Kw.

I will get to dismantling mine this coming week if I can. I guess once it is out then I can send them the board number to see if it will be compatible with the axpert.

Hopefullly this will go some way to getting the thing back up and running.

Hello BritishRacingGreen

Just a line to say thanks for the link. I now have a new MPPT board for my Axpert. I will be attempting to instal it in the coming weeks.

All in it was quite a good price. the postage was slightly more than the board cost but they sent it quickly and it was well packaged. I wait to see if it will do the trick.

Thanks again

Regards
