BobWood
Just bought a second hand mecer 1200va 12v inverter as we had now power for 12 days. Was running fine off the battery that I took somewhere else to charge. The error I recieved was when it was running on mains, I turned off at the wall while unit was running, so it should have switched over to the battery simulating a power failure and I heard a noise, and now have an error and red light on the led screen. I have opened the unit, cleaned it out, checked the 4x 40A fuses, thermal breaker. My tester can't check mossfets. Any idea what it could be? Perhaps the easy way to check if it is the battery is to connect the battery leads with correct polarity on a car battery and see if the red led is still on. If it is then there must be a fault on the unit.

It had been running fine before on the battery, only got the error when unit switched from mains to battery.
