February 1, 20251 yr Guidance please. We have a regular Eskom three phase supply split to supply three houses separately. We often have one phase down from Eskom side. I am looking for a simple solution to enable us to switch over and merge two working phases until Eskom fixes it. Any ideas welcome thanks brooks

Alas, phases don't "merge" without expensive conversion equipment. Probably the easiest thing, still not trivial, is some way to swap each house onto the next phase. When this happens, two houses share the same phase, so they have to be careful not to blow the street fuse and/or overload the conductors. Then you still need to swap back when power is restored to the missing phase, this time under load. The switch would have to be rated for at least 450 VAC (phase to phase voltage). It's not trivial.
