Deye Inverter Uses Grid even when there is Solar & Battery

Featured Replies

Good evening

I'm based in Pretoria, South Africa

This issue is repeating after new Firmware has been installed.

The System did work correctly initially after the firmware update, just briefly (Three or Four Days)

Please assist me with my two 8Kw Deye Inverters (connected in Parallel), 5 x 5Kw Volta Batteries, Since three weeks ago, my Inverters seem to be using Grid Power even when there is Solar / Battery power available? Sometimes the inverters stop Solar production just to use the Grid.

I am used to waking up with my battery at 35%, now I wake up with my battery at between 50% and 60%, because it was using the grid power first during the night. My system does NOT prioritize solar / battery power anymore.

When I physically look at the Inverters, it is the inverter that is connected as the Slave that is drawing from the grid.

What I have seen to resolve this issue (temporarily), when I restart both Inverters, the system works correctly for about a day or so and then do the same error again (drawing from the grid first).

See attached below 2 x pictures / screenshots + a short Video.

My settings :-

  • This is during the day, when there's ample sunshine

  • I've selected Load First on my settings.

  • Zero export to load.

  • Time of use is activated, is as per the attached. I've even tried lowering all the percentages to 35%, at all time intervals it did not work

  • I've tried selecting Grid peak shaving to 1000W, but that did not work.

Remove the tick from Zero Export To Load without changing any other setting and see if it improves matters.
