Sunsynk | Grid Export Issue | Fast_Zero_Export_Mode?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I’ve noticed an increase in the Grid Export per month over the last few months. System Mode is currently set to Zero Export + Limited to Home and Priority is Battery has always been this way.

Timer settings are 50% battery across all slots and Grid Charge is only selected for the 01:00-05:00 and the 05:00-09:00 slots. Was setup like this to cater for LS predominantly.

Current Inverter FW version is: M 3.3.8.6 / S 1.5.1.5 / C E.4.3.D

You will see the export to grid figures reported by SA, which shouldn’t be the case.

When I was checking the System Mode settings on the inverters I came across the “Fast_Zero_Export_Mode” which from a quick Google search indicates that it enables a faster reaction time on the inverter 200ms to reduce output during load changes.

Question: has anyone used this setting or is currently using this setting and will it help the with reducing/stopping the grid export?

I was also curious about this and asked the AI. It looks like it was intended for people who have very strict meters that don't tolerate any export. The TLDR of the lengthy response was:

Fast Zero Export Mode is simply a high-speed control loop that lets your Sunsynk hold the export line far more tightly than the standard 5-second algorithm. Switch it on only when you truly need “absolutely-no-export-ever” behaviour; otherwise the standard mode is less demanding on your batteries and just as effective for most homes.

Well that's exactly what I would prefer is absolute zero-export. I've heard/read in other posts that if your meter is not designed to accept grid-export then it just runs your units down. Now in my case its a hand full of units a month.

So hoping for some feedback from the people who are using this setting to give us both an answer on this :-)

I enabled it this morning, since enabling it 08:16 the Grid Export number has not changed from 0.01.

In comparison to the previous days, looks like its doing the job.
