Upgrade Axpert

Featured Replies

I have a 3kva 24V axpert, would anyone recommend running the solar charging capability through a Victron MPPT 100/50 instead to get more charging capabilities from the increased solar allowance? Would the Victron also possibly charger the batteries better than the built in controller in the Axpert?

Hi Sethm,

The Victron MPPT is a good solid programmable MPPT.
It is a very good idea to buy the VE.Direct to USB cable, to be able to access and program it, and with VictronConnect, it also automatically updates the firmware of the MPPT, if connected, and if there is a new firmware version.

Can you use it to charge the batts, short answer, yes.

with VictronConnect

Get the SmartSolar that has bluetooth built in. Yes it costs a bit more, but just save yourself the hassle. Us people with blue systems usually have the cables and dongles and things, we can update firmware directly from VRM using our Venus-GX or CCGX units. For people who are retrofitting this to other systems and who don't have all the toys, just get the one with bluetooth 🙂
