F18 ERROR IN DEYE INVERTER
Hi Guys Recently if started getting this error: F18HW_Ac_OverCurr_Fault when Eskom load shedding ends. Not every time, but a few times over the last 3 weeks. Happened at 4.30 this morning, no large loads and system has been installed since January this year. Any idea what could be causing it or what needs to be checked? Thanks

Can a Sunsynk 5Kva Inverter Be Used Without a Battery?
And don't forget the grid tied wont assist if the Grid is down.

My update
Updated my system: Still running my 3KVA Axpert Using 2 X EPSolar Tracer AN's (New) Upgraded panels from having 4 in parallel (Axpert charger went wonky and wouldnt go out of boost mode) to now having 2S2P for each controller (8 panels total) . Already seeing nice increases in power from old 4 panels to having the series connection and benefiting from the higher PV. Still have my first bank of 4 T105's leaking acid (Almost seems like its coming form the terminals) and the other 4 showing no issues of leakage. Put a large load on today, Axpert measured 23.8V and MPPT's were showing 25.2V with a 70amp load coming from an induction cooker. Considering adding a small Solis on grid system in the near future to help with those items that my system cant connect to.

If my controller is only set to 30 amps would the 32amp not be sufficient? These fuses above only go to 25amps, so would that not blow if i add an additional panel? Or should i just look at going to 48v system a bit earlier than planned?

4X 300W panels with a 8-10m run of cable. Controller has never shown more than 21 amps as its max.

No lighting in JHb this afternoon. Discovered and in the progress of rewiring from the panels as i have added a panel and want to add another and realised the cable is too thin (4 o r6 mm currently and going to 16mm as its coming from the roof of a double story to the ground floor). My domestic called me to say she could smell burning so i got home as quick as i could. Electrician came by and suspects either there was a fault in the fuse holder or the cable got to hot at the connection and started melting the plastic. Anyone know if those fuse holders are DC rated? Cant find much online. But will be replacing both with 100% DC rated fuses next week.

Plan will be to switch over to a 48v in the near future, but will keep it at 24v for the next few months and then replace the axpert with a 48v version and rewire panels in series, Maybe next year

Seem to have found the problem. Axpert not always switching over to float charge, thus keeping the battery voltage too high for too long. Will be running a new solar controller to charge the batteries independently of the Axpert.

I did. He recommended a 28.4 bulk and a 27.4v float. Happy to drop the bulk, not so sure about raising the float though.

Actually topped them up using around 500ml between the 4. They seem to be behaving better on the lower bulk for now.

Yip. Got the first set a month ago and the new set arrived this week. Going to try measure the batteries compared to whatthe Axpert reading is this week to see if its out. But have lowered the bulk charge for now.

I currently have 4XT105 batteries using a 3Kva 600w Axpert. I set up the bulk charge at 29.2V (Axpert max as guide said they need 29.6V), and float to be 27V. I have noticed quite a lot of bubbling spilling over onto the batteries. Any idea of changes to the settings i should make? (I have also just bought another 4 batteries to add into parallel and a 4th panel to help [4X300W] with early morning charging and better afternoon performance)

Upgrade Axpert
I have a 3kva 24V axpert, would anyone recommend running the solar charging capability through a Victron MPPT 100/50 instead to get more charging capabilities from the increased solar allowance? Would the Victron also possibly charger the batteries better than the built in controller in the Axpert?

My moved system
So i have decided to add another bank of Trojans to this system as well as their own HA02 balancer. I will also be adding a 4th panel to assist with early morning and late afternoon charging capability. (I was thinking of adding 3 12V panels to up the voltage on the existing 3, but a 4th seems better as if i decide to go 48V in the future, i just need another 2 panels and wire them all in series to meet this need. Anyone have any experience with Suntech panels? (Voltage is the same as my existing, so wont bring the system performance down in the parallel connection.)

Saft Kion Lithium Ion B2
So i cam across a battery at a client that was given to them for disposal as it only has 80% capacity left apparently. It is marked as a KION Batterie Lithium Ion B2, Nominal voltage 23.1v and 410Ah and was manufactured on 16/11/2016. Anyone know if this would work on a 24v solar system?

So will be doing some upgrades and moving my current system next week. Here is the plan: Main system: 3X300W panels on the roof - Connected through a 3 into 1 MC4 connector with a 30 Amp fuse. (Currently only have 2 panels) 4*T105 Trojan Batteries 1X Axpert 3kva 24V Inverter (had for the last 3 years) DB Board with 220V in and out trip switches, 125A Fuses for the batteries and DC Disconnect for the panels. 1X HA02 Balancer 220V Power will be run to plugs (Not going through main DB Board) and some Sonoff switches used to remotely monitor power usage and switch off high use power items if needed at night [Freezer] if there is a power failure. Light system (Run upstairs 12V Lights that have been installed in my roof - About 12 3-5W Globes in total) 1X120W Panel 1X 60Ah Omnipower battery 1X PWM Charge controller (Had it when i first started and replaced with Axpert) Fuse on battery and panel - 10 Amp Will post pics once the system back up and running- Super-capacitor Batteries
I would imagine it might play some havoc with low DC disconnects on inverters, probably why you will need their inverter that can adjust for the lower voltage.- Super-capacitor Batteries
