March 3Mar 3 hello guys,i bought an pylontech us 3000 battery from a guy and decided to update the FW...... result bricked battery.been trying to unbrick it and tried FW 3000a 2.8 / 2.9 / 3.4 none work... see attached photos.i do not remember what was the FW version before... i only can tell you that when i enter the Serial number after i try to update the battery it`s not accepting the SN and giving me another SN which is not on the box. TX for helping, i think i need older FW versions .
March 3Mar 3 Hi,What version of Batteryview are you using? Did you contact Pylontech directly for the most recent firmware, which would be 3.4 if you have a US3000A. Most importantly, they would verify which firmware is compatible with your module, considering that there were a number of hardware and software variants. As I understand it, the number one reason why a module might become bricked is because it was flashed with the wrong firmware, which seems likely to be the case here, and the reason why your module will not recognize the proper serial number. Truly, that serial number does not coincide with your module at all…You may stand a chance to recover your module using an older version of batteryview. i.e., 3.0.37 —-or—- the ‘batterytools’ software. If you can connect to your module, just use whatever sn it has already automatically assigned to it and just re-flash it with the correct firmware. You can change the serial number afterwards but not if you are unable to connect to your module at all.Good luck.p.s., did you scan your module before hand? Initially I did not understand why Pylontech Support asked me for both the SN on the label and still required the event logs. March 5Mar 5 Author hi allreayd tried 2.8 2.9 3.4 now working here is a screeenshot from batteryview i see it`s phantom board. maybe i need older FW. i contacted Pylontech and waiting on their reply, but if you guys have older FW for US3000 i will try it!
March 6Mar 6 Good day, have you used the recovery tool, that has been attached to your thread?. The recovery tool is a small program that can recover bricked modules such as yours. On a side note; I have rebuilt and flashed another stack of 6 Pylontech batteries within the past few days; some which were priorly dead as a doornail. Same exact board version. So far, I have flashed a total of 22 batteries to FW version 3.4. with batteryview 3.0.29. These were purchased for virtually nothing, the solar warehouse owner eventually said that he just wanted them gone and that they were taking up useable space. I can fix them on the component level since they are for my personal use. I have also acquired a pallet of swollen modules that would otherwise be considered rubbish. Whenever I feel like it and have the time, I will rebuild whatever can be salvaged… there is simply no interest in them here anymore. No one that I know of uses pylontech batteries at all, largely because they are 15 cell modules and were considered problematic for those who did not read the manual or understood what that meant…Back on topic:I do not believe that batteryview 3.0.3 is even compatible, lest the proper software version for the earlier versions of pylontech batteries such as the US3000A, otherwise pylontech support would have provided it, when I initially had a number of issues that required a FW update, which was very recent. To be honest, it will not make a difference which compatible firmware you use to recover your module. The most practical approach would be to recover your module with the proper software provided above, which was also engineered by pylontech, The simple fact that you can even connect to your module is very promising. Again, with the proper version of batteryview; either 30.0.27, 30.0.28, 30.0.29 —-or—- upgrade tool 1.0.9, you can reflash your module to any compatible FW version, though 3.4 offers far better performance and improved functionality. You have the tools and resources in this thread to recover your battery.If you so choose, you can erase your eeprom while flashing your firmware with the proper software. The EEPROM simply retains statistical data and certain settings that will revert to the default settings when erased, of course you will lose any statistical data, if it even exists at this point. NOTE: you do not have to erase the eeprom to change the SN to the proper sequence anyways. That information is also listed above, and takes less than 1 minute to change Because I do not intend to sell any of my modules, I have no need for that statistical data; besides I have priorly saved the log files for each module before hand.They were all acquired used, so wether or not doing so would void some warranty if any, it still is no problem to me; it is not as if pylontech will be sending a number of RMA units to the Virgin Islands to begin with (not that I need any). Depending on who you ask, we are either local or international._Lochp.s., if you insist on an older firmware; version 2.4, I will provide it, but use it at your own risk.good luck.

With this method, you wont lose your data, if any stored in your eeprom. I also noticed that at some point, you already tried using the update tool; after examining the settings in your photos carefully, while lucidly awake and alert…You are indeed connected to your module! I am certain that you could merely leave it as is (not recommended) if you were so inclined to, but if you would like to change the “barcode” to the correct sequence, here is how to do so:0) Connect to your module, and once connected, do not select scan module just yet;1) In the menu bar above, select Options;2) Select Control Pane;3) Select Index Item nr. 2 “Write Module Barcode”;4) A Prompt Dialog box will appear, which will ask “Please input the Parameter”;5) With ‘caps lock on, or holding the shift key, enter the serial nr. From the label on your module;6) Select ok and you are all set!NOTE: pylontech sent me batteryview 3.0.39 with the US3000A V3.4.bin firmware update. I failed miserably at conveying that.FOR CLARIFICATION: I meant to suggest batteryview 3.0.39, 3.0.38 or 3.0.37. NOT 3.0.29, 3.0.28 or 3.0.27; although they should all still work. The general consensus is that the most current firmware 3.4 solved a number of issues, not limited to a number of improvements.From personal experience, I am inclined to agree; my modules operates significantly better than they did priorly with FW 2.4. Prior issues with alarms system shutdown and unbalanced cells are no longer present. Of course, this is merely my personal experience so far. Truth be told, I never intended to update all of my batteries; I was more than compelled to do so because the updated modules operated without constantly throwing an error as well as remained well balanced. After pylontech support read my system logs, they made the recommendation, but in truth, having previously read that this update solved a number of problems, it felt like it could be worth the effort; even though my vertical rack systems are a PITA to work on, I couldn’t be more satisfied. The lowered voltage levels are not a problem and certainly not very noticeable; the update presumably increases their overall lifespan as I understand it. But each system is different, and this happens to work just fine for my requirements.If I may ask; how do you think your module got bricked? March 8Mar 8 Hi all, I thought that it might be helpful to test and otherwise verify Firmware version 2.4 for US3000a Modules. The test module in question was recently updated from FW v2.4 to FW v3.4. It should be noted that Firmware v2.4 was the Firmware that this module came with when acquired.results: while slower than usual, It was successfully downgraded to v2.4, without any issues at all, running batteryview 3.0.39.After several tests later, I was “satisfied” that it functioned as expected; all setpoints were correct including the maximum voltage which reverted to 53.5volts. Of course after a few hours, I reflashed the FW to v3.4 to coincide with all my other modules. The long and short is: 1) Fortunately, I did not brick my module, and the attached FW v2.4 bin file, ***for the US3000A module only**** is functional;2) the maximum voltage was not derated per v3.4 and charged to 53.5~7 without high voltage or 0 cell alarms;3) it is very possible to downgrade your module’s firmware if you are so inclined to do so, without bricking it;3) it is very possible to upgrade your module after downgrading to an earlier FW version, without bricking your module;4) the operating characteristics while operating on FW v3.4 is vastly improved, and as a matter of preference, it has with out a doubt simplified system balancing and enhanced my user experience with Pylontech.5) unless absolutely imperative, or in the name of science, I strongly advise against arbitrarily flashing your module. I did so in the name of science, because I have a number of compatible BMS modules that I can install if I somehow managed to brick my module, and was unable to recover it;6) The FW v2.4 bin file above has been fully tested, and verified for use with US3000A modules only;7) have at it and enjoy _Loch
