May 6May 6 Morning allI have 2 Mecer 11kw inverters in parallel, totally off grid.We are going through a really rough patch of weather here on the farm and my batteries are getting low.I have connected my generators (tried 2 different ones) to try to get AC in to work but I think the power is just too dirty for these inverters. What I have tried is the following:I changed the inverters settings to Utility firstI reduced the max charging amps from 60A to 30AI turned off much of the inverters loadI added a toaster to the generator load to try and stabilie it.Unfortunately my inverters will still not accept this power.Any other ideas to try?I am 2 hours away from the nearest supplier of any components and the weather wont allow travel anyway. If all else fails, my next thing to try will be this:I previously had 2 Mecer 5kw inverters in parallel before I upgraded our system and they did work off the generator. I might try to run them off a generator and then connect the AC Out from them to the AC In of the current inverters??? Would that be madness???Thank you all for your assistance!
May 6May 6 Maybe change the low and high voltage settings on the inverter.Reduce charging current more and if it connect increase. If possible check the frequency output of your generator. It must be close to 50Hz
May 6May 6 Try the lower charge as Jacques suggested. The Mecwr type inverters are very fussy with respect to QOS. With your 5kW that worked on the genny I would take that route to at least see if you can get out of your current situation even at lower power available.
May 7May 7 Author Thank you for your assistance JaquesWe lost all comms last night hence late response.I think the problem is the frequency is too variable and my inverter settings cannot accommodate this.Cheers
May 7May 7 Author Thanks Scorp007, I'm going to try that as soon as I've done some critical repairs here after the storm damage.Cheers
