Victron installation stats to pvoutput.org

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a Quattro with MPPT 150/85s, CCGX and BMV702. When I was using other equipment (Voltronic Axperts) I fed all generation and usage statistics to pvoutput.org which is a great way to monitor installations year to year and long term. Is there an easy way to feed statistics from my Victron installation to pvoutput.org. If it is very technical I will need a detailed explanation of the steps. I can't programme. Wasn't sure whether to put this here or in "The Internet of Things".

Why don't you just use Victron's VRM?

No bragging rights like PVOutput. 🙂

I do use VRM, but pvoutput.org is much more complete in its statistics and works better for long-term analysis. I also like that it is an "open" system where sharing and comparisons can be made.. It's much easier to see at a glance total energy, month to month differences and year to year changes on pvoutput.org. I'd like to have the stats in Victron's VRM but also in pvoutput.org.

If its all about bragging rights you can make your VRM install publicly visible if you add it to VRM World :P

The rate at which PVOutput can accepts data is quite slow.

So it is a good general overall indicator view yes.

I lost interest since VRM.

But there are people whom are sending data from a VenusGX to PvOutput, even Emon. Look for that in Github.

Ah, well no, not really about bragging rights. I suppose I am more used to pvoutput.org and find it offers more stats from the data. I'll take a look at VRM World though, and suppose I'll perhaps see more stats as the months roll on in VRM (system has been posting there since March).

OK. I had seen it there I think but looks complicated. I'll take another look.

I do like the stats on tonnes of CO2 saved and other stuff on PVOutput.

Is it this TTT?  https://github.com/victronenergy/dbus-mqtt

Nope, that is something else. I know someone once gave me a link but as I said, I lost interest.

PVOutput's data interval is like once every 5 minutes. So you can imagine a lot of CO2 is missed in-between. 🙂

That code sucks. I'm sorry to say it... mostly because I wrote it... but it does.

It has to be started AFTER the vebus service is up or it just doesn't work properly.

I have not been able to rope someone into making it better. I once thought about making it better... and realised I was probably hopped up on beer or something when I wrote it... which I remember was shortly after Christmas.

Ideally one should rather obtain the values from systemcalc (com.victronenergy.system) rather than the individual services as it does now. That will require complete re-engineering though.

OK. I think I might pause this idea then.

Oh, it works well enough! Don't let the badness of the code deter you from trying it 🙂

I've seen early versions of some other popular code that runs some other inverters... trust me this is not much worse 🙂

OK. I'll give it a go. 🙂
