January 16, 20206 yr Hi My name is Mark and I am in the Valhalla, Centurion area. I currently have an Axpert 3kVA Plus 24v Inverter with 2 Deltec 100ah lead crystal batteries used as a UPS which I bought years ago. This has served me well in the past to bypass the blackouts. i was wondering what the best configuration of solar panels would be to make the best of the MPPT with as little panels as possible (1500W with an open circuit voltage of 145VDC). As far as I understand, 4x 365W Canadian Solar panels in 2 strings would give me 1460W which would keep the open voltage down to 94.4VDC. Thank-you Mark Edited January 16, 20206 yr by Parky

Yes, those large panels are 72-cell, so 2S is the best configuration for an inverter with a PV Vmax of 145 V, as yours is. That 94.4 V Voc is only at 25°C; at 0°C it is 7.26% worse, but that's still only 101.3 V.
