I have a 5kva MUST inverter, 2x Pylontech US3000 batteries and 12x 330W Canadian Solar Panels

I noticed something today running off grid on the panels. If I run an appliance e.g. kettle or iron, from what I can see on the inverter... the initial power draw is off the battery for a few seconds and then the panels take on the load. 

Not sure if this is correct or perhaps a setting needs to be changed on the inverter?

That is normal.  It takes a couple of seconds for the MQTT to readjust to take the full load.

That's correct behaviour. The system needs to adjust to accommodate the load. Its why these systems are not designed to run without batteries.
