Solar Water Heating - Reverse Flow & Heat Traps

Featured Replies

Hi all, a few years later and happy with hot water from my solar tubes - I now have to trim a tree casting a shadow on my tubes until 11 am.

Regarding the flow of direction through the pump - when the flow direction is from bottom of geyser to top, it may be possible to draw cold water from the bottom of the geyser through the manifold if one opens the warm water tap. If the whole geyser is at the same temp. it does not matter if manifold is hot, but when you have hot water at the top of geyser, and cold at the bottom or manifold is cold, the above may happen.
