Unexplained inverter shut-down
Hi yรกll, hope you are all well. Just some feedback re this Riio Sun inverter shut down. After doing a software (firmware) update the problem has been solved. Agents did it remotely and now the system works without shutting down at the start of loadshedding. Regards

Kodak BL3.6 and BL5 batteries cross compatibility
@jumper agreed, but I need more than 60Kwh storage capacity and the max 15 batteries in parallel that Kodak allows, will not be reached if I use the BL3.6's. They have explained that I can add another 2 BL3.6's over and above the 15, but to not connect their link cables and use them without the comms cables. This I suppose is an option if I am only aiming for 60Kwh, but I am aiming at a MIN of 60Kwh, probably closer to 70Kwh storage is needed. So now I still don't know what to do, other than to try and sell my 4 x 1yr old BL3.6's and then to build my battery bank from scratch, with the BL5's or any other acceptable battery brand. I don't know if there would be any interest in the 4 Kodak BL3.6 batteries? Regards

Kodak BL3.6 and BL5 batteries cross compatibility
So I have 4 x BL 3.6 batteries installed in parallel, with 3 Axpert King inverters. System works perfectly, but I want to increase storage progressively until I have more than 60Kwh storage. So I noticed while getting pricing on 6 new BL3.6's that the BL5 is available and cross compatible with the BL3.6 batteries. So I obviously became very excited at the prospect of being able to rather add BL5's to my existing bank, as I will be able to get closer to my storage goals, as I can only connect a max of 15 Kodak batteries in parallel. So when I inquired about the BL5's compatibility, the agents said that I must make the BL3.6 the master battery and the BL5's slaves. They also told me that thje BL5's would loose their 4.94Kwh capacity and only supply the same capacity as the BL3.6 batteries, which is 3.686Kwh. So in effect you loose almost 30% of storage. Does this make any sense to anyone? Then I also asked if Kodak can work with a master controller and manage more than 15 batteries, like the Pylontech batteries? I can't seem to get a straight answer yet. Does anyone here maybe have these answers? Thanks

Unexplained inverter shut-down
Hi guys, just some feedback re this issue. I have spoken to another installer who had exactly the same problem and after installing a second UP2500 battery, the issue was resolved. He also said that a firmware update was also done. We will be doing the firmware first and then report back.

Unexplained inverter shut-down
Thank you BRC, I will try your advice and see if it makes a difference. I have a few relay boards here that I was using for my Raspberry Pi4 to create an autostart for my generator, but have dropped that for now, as I will be installing a micro Hydro pelton soon, to cover my own baseloads 14/7. So at least I have the relays. Thanks

Unexplained inverter shut-down
Hi all, hope you all had a great weekend. So just to give feedback re the SPD installation and whether it worked, well unfortunately it made no difference and the inverter still shuts down when loadshedding starts.

Unexplained inverter shut-down
I am not to sure. The client informed me that he only has power from the inverter for about 2-5min after loadshedding starts. I went to test his batteries, did various diagnostics incl loadtests on his batteries and found one gel battery to be faulty. Then we quoted on a lithium battery, which he approved and we installed. I tested it manually and then the next day the client phoned and explained the problem.

Unexplained inverter shut-down
Hi, so the only thing I changed was the battery and the corresponding required settings on the inverter, then we noticed the problem when loadshedding starts. When I replaced the gel batteries with lithium, I tested the setup, by manually switching off the Eskom supply to the inverter, to see if the battery and inverter were working correctly, which they were. The next day I received a phone-call informing me that the system shut down when loadshedding started. Then I started checking for possible causes, to no avail.
