Just got a new system installed with 5kw Deye inverter and 2*stage1 Volta battery. Facing a weird issue, where everything works fine, but when the battery reaches 100% Soc the BMS page on the inverter stops displaying the Charge/ discharge values. When the sun goes down, the inverter pulls from the Grid instead of the batteries. Then I have to manually restart the battery and then the inverter starts pulling from the battery. Has anyone had similar issues? Should I try to update the battery ?

I am trying to add a new UP5000 battery to my existing system. Now I know u get interlink cables with a new battery to connect to an existing battery but i cant find out the length of the new battery. Issue is the new battery will be next to the existing battery and not one top of the other, so I am worried if the length of the cable will not be enough to parallel the batteries... same with the coms cable. If the length of the cable is not enough, how do I purchase new connectors and make a custom power cable and coms cable myself ?

yes I did think of that but the multisibcontrol website said "Requirements:- A computer that runs Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32/64), Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11" and raspberry Pi cannot load windows. Am i wrong ?

Thats what i dont want to do. I am already worried about the battery sitting in the garage and people eyeing it when I open the garage, a PC might attract even more attention. Wish there was a way to connect the inverter with a long cable or some other way. I think Solar assist should be useful in my use case

I want to use it but the challenge is that the inverter is the garage(Front of the house) and my office is in the back of the house. How do u manage the physical connections ?

this is applicable only when u have all three sources of power available, battery, eskom power is on and solar pannels are generating electricity. Since this is a voltronic inverter, we have to work with voltages. If the battery is at 51 Volts, it will cut off eskom power and use battery to power the house, there is full sun so the battery will charge and discharge at the same time(this is how I understand it). Now say there is suddenly cloud cover, the pannels cannot keep up, the inverter uses the battery to power the house, battery volatage drops, when It drops below 49(back to grid voltage) it will stop using the power from battery and use eskom power. Now the cloud cover is gone, sun is shining, inverter will charge the battery, when it reaches 51V (Back to discharge) it will stop using eskom and use batteries and solar to power the house.

I am in a mess at the moment. I have 4 solar pannels, three of them are "JA solar 400W" and the last one is "Set solar 370w". I spoke to an installer and he said all the pannels need to be identical. Is that true ?

I want to increase the battery capacity. Currently have a single pylontech US3000. How to add more batteries ? Do I connect another US3000 in series or parallel ? or I can get a 5KW one and connect in parallel ? How will the BMS connect when an additional battery is introduced ?

My solar geyser burst. The plumbing contractor from my insurance declined saying its an asbestos roof and they are not allowed to work over it. Insurance is going to pay me and I am supposed to find an installer myself. This Geyser came with the house and I have no experience with housework. I got my first quote today when I sent an inquiry to a website that was like the first hit on google. They sent me someone who works under a different company name, quoted around 17000 and 80% is expected to be paid in advance. Is this standard? Anyways I am in no ways going to pay someone who just came over to my house and I dont know anything about. I am still looking for some accredited installers to do the job, this is in southern suburbs, Cape town. any help or guidance will be highly appreciated.

so I have set the "back to grid" voltage to 50(this was 49 before) and back to discharge voltage is 51 so I have kind of achieved what I wanted ... 90% of battery incase there is load shedding and then 10% of buffer for the inverter to work in battery mode. What I am not able to do is get the power directly from the pannels without battery in between, its always either Line mode or battery mode.

Whats the best way to do this upgrade ? I dont have a USB or serial cable. Is it a standard miniUSB cable I can use ?

I dont know how to change this. Its not a new battery almost 2 years old. But now it did pick up 30A as charging option.

Hi, have a kodak OG 5.48 inverter. Came with the house, the previous owner used it for a year and I am using it for a year, with no complaints. The only issue is the configuration. So when there is full sun I want it to use solar first but unless I set the priority to solar -battery -utility It will continue to use utility. If I use this setting, the problem is the battery drains in the evening, and if there is power failure I have no backup. So i have to manually go and switch it back to solar-utility-battery after sunset. Second issue is I am trying to change the max charging current to 40A as I have a pylon battery but it keeps defaulting to 10A Lastly cant find any info on where I can download the latest firmware. Please assist.
