Sunsynk Monitoring - USB to RS485 - 'Serial' object has no attribute 'host'
Now it seems to be a little more stable. Only hard crashes every 8-10 hours. Quite a few instances of "Unavailable" in the sensor history, but atleast appears to recover. (Until the hard crash mentioned above) Still seeing a ton of the below errors in the logs:
-
Sunsynk Monitoring - USB to RS485 - 'Serial' object has no attribute 'host'
I amended my config to set READ_SENSORS_BATCH_SIZE = 8 instead of 60. Now it connects, however it only runs for around 25-45 minutes, with many "Unavailable" status inbetween, and then eventually it disconnects completely and the addon needs to be restarted. I still see the same error being spammed: 2023-04-15 21:23:05,493 ERROR Read Error: <class 'Exception'>: (1,169,1) 'Serial' object has no attribute 'host'

Sunsynk Monitoring - USB to RS485 - 'Serial' object has no attribute 'host'
Hey Everyone, I hope you guys can help. Ive recently setup a pi with the addon (https://github.com/kellerza/sunsynk) installed. @kellerza This is connected to my Sunsynk 8kw inverter using the following dongle: https://www.robotics.org.za/RS485-3P The idea is it will publish to my main HA install on a seperate NUC via MQTT. I managed to get it speaking to the inverter, however it throws the following error when trying to get the sensor info: Here are the full logs: Configs are as follows: Not quite sure where i need to look to get the issue sorted? Thanks a mil

Sunsynk Batteries increases Sunsynk Inverter warranty?
What is the recommended settings for a single 5.12kw BYD Sunsynk battery in th 8kw inverter? Specifically around the Charge and Discharge amps. Would it be as per the spec sheet? Would you take Max or Nominal rates? Apologies, first timer here, just wanna make sure i'm all covered from a settings perspective.

How do I relate daily power usage to required battery size
Thanks for the quick response. Indeed i have a gas geyser which resulted in a huge drop in usage. In winter its around 12kw, and summer around 8, hence the 10kw average. This is as per the prepaid meter i run. Im currently planning for purely a backup system, so no solar at all, that will come next year. Ideally im looking for an estimate of battery usage under average use. With the inverter, the maid for instance wouldnt know loadshedding is ongoing, so wouldnt know not to use the vacuum or the washing machine. Thats also why i went for a larger inverter than needed, to hopefully cover for these occurances.

How do I relate daily power usage to required battery size
Hey Guys, I just want to make sure im not being stupid here before i place my order. I currently have a household usage around the 10kw mark. Im planning on installing a 8kw Sunsynk paired with a Sunsynk 100AH 5.12kWh 51.2V Battery. Does this mean i should be able to run at normal load for a total of 0.512 days (5.12kWh/10kW) so a smidge over 12 hours? Thanks

Gas Geyser keeps shutting off - Atlas EC32-DG
Ah snap... thats not great news... Did you see a big improvement in output water pressure? And gas consumption?

Gas Geyser keeps shutting off - Atlas EC32-DG
It looks like it might be an bit of both on my side. The temperature was steadily climbing up to 60+ degrees because i couldnt put the flow rate on its highest as then it doesn't turn on reliably and switches off if someone opens a tap. This was at the very lowest gas setting. I have one of those medium sized square rainfall heads (If that makes sense). It wasnt touted as a water saving head, so i dont think it is. It certainly takes some getting used to. A lot of frustrations so far. But, what i found that seems to work, i turn the gas flow rate all the way down. I have the water flow rate at a setting that means it is on reliably (So not too high). And then to prevent the excess temperature, i partially close the emergency shutoff valve... This morning i had a shower with zero shutoffs... Celebrations!! And my wife flushed the toilet during my shower and there was also no shutoff (And the toilet and geyser share a common inlet feed, so they directly affect each other) Thanks for all the recommendations so far. If there are any other tips you want to share, im all ears

Gas Geyser keeps shutting off - Atlas EC32-DG
Hey guys! Been lurking around here for a while, and now need some help. I recently installed a gas geyser. It is an Atlas 16L (Model EC32-DG) which has two 19kg LPG bottles connected to it. (Around 8-9m away from the geyser) The total run from the geyser to our shower is around 3-4 meters. The problem i have is that if i try and adjust the temperature via the mixer in the shower, the geyser often switches off. I then need to close the tap, wait a second or two and open it again which reignites the geyser My pressure at home is decent (Wouldnt consider it low at all). There are two adjustments on the geyser, one for water pressure adjustment and one for gas adjustment. If i turn the water adjustment lower then the water is far too hot even on the lowest gas setting (And the pressure sucks as a result of the limit). If i turn it all the way up, then it switches off if I run a cold tap in the house while using hot water. Any advise?
