  1. I have an old - ten or more years - two digit Geyserwise MAX connected to a passive {thermosyphon type) geyser system. It's worked well over the years and is on it's second geyser. It's not that obvious from the Geyserwala web site whether it'll integrate with this old set up? I know with the Geyserwise Tuya set up I'd have to replace/update the display of my Geyserwise, adding extra expense. The other thing is that my solar geyser (and electric oven, kettle and air fryer) are wired in as a non-essential loads to my distribution box, and as a result the current Geyserwise panel goes dark during load shedding - I suppose handy in that it acts as a visual reminder…

  2. Hi Guys Just wanted to share my latest video on installation and connecting your inverter to Home Assistant using the new RS485 shield and ESP32C board. Makes life much easier to set the thing up, no soldering and you only need to connect the power up inside the inverter to a 12V power supply and the RS485 cables so dead easy. You can get the board and an ESP32 from https://smarthomeintegrations.co.za/ for R400 and get delivery in a day or so. Slipx06 (Paul) has also included some cool new YAML code to calculate Daily energy production and consumption in the ESP32 and send that info to HA as well. Let me know what you guys think of the video …

Put my latest video up, please let me know what you guys think. Sound, editing etc is hopefully getting better with some practice. @kellerza I have a video of installing your integration on my todo list 🙂 Interested to do a comparison between Solar Assistant & Home Assistant at some stage but think I am a bit biased so looking for a Solar Assistant guru to assist if anyone is interested.

Hey! I'm new to Home Assistant. I have messed with it before in a VM but never took it serious because I didn't really bother to check it out properly. Now I'm shocked with what can be done with it! I wanted to connect my HA installation HP600 Mini PC (8GB Ram , 512 SSD and some i3 CPU) After searching a little I and being a bit new to this I couldn't've really find a quick and easy way to connect to my Sunsynk inverter in the cloud. I dont really care having updates by the second the refresh rate offered by sunsynk.net is good enough for me. I'm not sure if the following will be helpful to anyone. But it works well for me. I created a simple HA add-on th…

  5. I currently have Wifi loggers on the com ports. I have my geyser on a CBi Astute (Tuya) switch and I want to switch on the geyer when the battery SOC reaches 95%. For what it's worth the batteries are 16 x Pylontech US3000C. Inverters SUN-8K-SG01LP1-EU From what I can gather I would need a Raspberry Pi with Solar Assistant connected to the system with a RS485 cable and then another Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant. Given that I just want the SOC, would a single RS485 cable be sufficient?

Hi Guys Hoping someone smart can assist me. I have(had) a perfeclty working ET DC500 gate motor, and then recently purchsed the Sonoff SV 7-32 click Self Locking module. I followed the following blog post https://hometechtime.com/how-to-automate-your-gate-with-a-sonoff-wifi-smart-switch/, as i pretty much have the exact setup. I wired the ‘Normally Open’ terminal of the Sonoff to the BT connector on the gate motor and the ‘Common’ terminal of the Sonoff to the CM terminal on the gate motor. Everything seemed fine, the device paired and i was able to turn it on in the app, i set the inching to 0.5 sec. Then the problem started, when pressin…

  7. Sharing this here in its own thread. This is my effort to replicate the Sunsynk power flow screen as a custom Home Assistant card as well as some Dashboard ideas I've been using. Improvements and suggestions welcome. Features Option to switch between two card styles: lite or full. Animated power flow based on positive/negative/zero sensor values with configurable dynamic speed. (Supports inverted battery, AUX and grid power). Dynamic battery image based on SOC (empty->low->medium->high). Grid connected status. Inverter status (standby, normal, self-test, alarm, fault). Configurable battery size and shutdown SOC to c…

Hello, I hope someone can help, I have got the Sunsynk Power Flow Card up and running but when I try and link the Inverter entity "Load Frequency 192" it says "No items available" . I do have an entity available though, it is sensor.deye_sunsynk_sol_ark_grid_frequency. Does anyone know why the card cannot "see" this entity to allow it to be imported? Many thanks! Jon

  9. I have a problem. I have the Sonoff 1 channel self-locking / itching wifi switch. The switch is connected to the app and ticks when tested on the phone but the gate is not moving. I connected the com on the switch to the com on the motor and the N/O to BT. This is the ET 500 Drive with the LCD display. This motor has N/C and N/O ports as well and I connected the switch to them but nothing. Any advice? On my ET 500 Plus the above setup works fine.

I’m using an experimental dynamic tariff where low prices appear in different 15-minute periods throughout the day. I would like to use a single slot (e.g., Prog1) to activate grid charging. However, I can’t figure out how to set Prog1 Time so that it covers a full 24 hours (which would allow me to control Prog1 Capacity from Home Assistant whenever the price is low). My question is: a) How can I configure Prog1 Time to span 24 hours? or b) Is there a better approach to achieve this?

Hi Everyone, I have done a video on the installation of the KellerZA integration from Johann. I think it is a better option than the Solarman integration as it allows for the writing of settings back to the inverter and gives you an upgrade path if you want a faster refresh. is very flexible and easy to setup. Please let me know what you think of the video and if you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for the great integration @kellerza 🙂

  12. I'm trying to assist my neighbour to get his AM5 batteries BMS data into home assistant. On my setup using different batteries I just installed a Pace BMS addon plugged in a RS232 with EPS32 Wifi Bridge to mine and whala data got pulled in. Happy days! However on his setup with Hubble AM-5 batteries which I thought was also using Pace BMS it seems Hubble in their infinate wisdom and maniacal push for force hubble cloudlink onto there users have restricted the BMS with a custom version or different BMS it seems. It uses a BMS tool that pops up an option of VKPH or VKPG as the BMS Board type. Anyone know of a way to get this or have reverse engineered this so to pull the …

  13. There are multiple ways you can link up a Home Assistant box to your inverter and I thought it might be a good idea to have one thread with a list of the options so as to make it easier for forum members looking for info. This is a list of integrations that started on this forum. There are a number of other integrations on Github. I have listed forum members who started of these solutions but it really has been a group effort with a lot of other people on the forum contributing to moving these projects along, adding new features etc. @Bloubul7's Node Red Project - the granddaddy of all them all and Bloubul7 who first cracked the way to speak to the inverter…

  14. Hey everyone I am completely new to home assist and solar systems. In few weeks I will be getting sunsync 10kw battery and hopefully 7kw invter as these are going out side it would be bit of pain to run cales from invter into my pi/ computer depending on what I use, I was looking at solar assit but sue to them going out side I am now looking into home assist So if anyone in generous to help or answer few questions for me. 1.) Will the sunsync dongale work to pull everything I need to edit export times / import times and be able to do it automatically rather than manual as I will be switching to octopus flux and you have set it manually In sunsync app. 2) what addons wou…

I'm looking for a third party monitoring app like Home Assistant to integrate TBB inverter. I have not seen any mention of TBB Inverter in any of such. Not even Solar Assistant or ICC. Will be grateful for any information. Thanks

  16. Hi all, I'm new to the forum and firstly want to say hi! I'm very interested in buying this tank / water heater from Magneto. I see it's WiFi compatible. I have 3 questions please: Is it possible to control the device without internet? Meaning local WiFi connection only? Can it be added to Home Assistant? I don't see any integrations available at the moment. Can you flash the device with ESPHome? I'd appreciate any help on this. Kind regards, Robbie

Good day All is there a way to have home assistant monitor my prepaid electricity box so it can warn me when my electricity is running low or even top up the meter somehow (this is probably just a pip dream)

  18. Hi all I've been using the great KellerZA Sunynk integration with my Deye 8Kw inverter for a while. It's a brilliant integration and I've had an automation set up to prevent battery discharge overnight if there's not going to be much solar production the next day. Sweet. However, recently I noticed that not working because, it seems, the integration is not able to change the "Use Timer" value. So it reads the value fine from the inverter but when I flip the slider it doesn't change the inverter setting. The slider basically flips for a second then flips back again (obviously updating itself from the unchanged inverter setting). I've googled a bit and looked at a few logs …

  19. I have been using the smart automations on the JASA app, but wanted to integrate with home assistant via the smart life app, but I don't see all the entities I need, specifically the temperature setting. Has anyone perhaps done this yet?

  20. I've got 2 Jet-air aircons that work great with the JASA app, full functionality incl a "mute" fan speed mode that isn't on the IR remote. Have read on here that to pull these into HA I need to first link them to the Tuya app, which I did - also appear to have full functionality on there. Then used the Tuya integration to pull the devices and their entities into HA using the Tuya IoT platform. Now when I access the climate entity for the one aircon I can either get a thermostat card or an entity card that opens the same thermostat but with different features, which is weird. Problem is firstly that the fan speed setting does nothing in HA (works in Tuya a…

  21. I'm trying to get Home Assistant to work with my Deye 5Kw Inverter, but I'm unsure which RS485 port is to be used. I have so far been unable to find a clear cut answer anywhere on the internet. Pls see the attached photo. So is it the top left BMS 485 socket or the bottom right RS 485 socket? Your help will be much appreciated :)

  22. The install video for this product (https://konnected.io/products/konnected-alarm-panel-interface-module) shows to connect this interface zones in parallel to existing zones (https://youtu.be/fcY0dYuBQCo?t=760) I'm wondering how the interface does not interfere with the zone (I'm new to electronics). If the interface connects to existing zone + terminal, it effectively creates a parallel circuit with the sensor right? The panel monitors the zone resistance to decide if the zone is violated or tampered, but adding the interface in parallel surely must change the resistance being monitored? If that is the case and the interface potentiometer is what caters for this, then ho…

  23. Hello everyone. I've been using a Deye 5kSg03Lp1 inverter for almost two years. A year ago, I started experimenting with Home Assistant and controlling my PV system. I first started with the Solarman dongle in the cloud and then I found the Homeassistant integration Sunsynk from KellerZa. A connection was quickly established, as were MQTT and the dashboard. I would actually be quite satisfied if it weren't for the sensor and switch I needed. I've searched extensively, but I can't find a Yaml file anywhere, with a description of where to put it or where the integration's installation directory is. Since I couldn't get it to work properly, I switched to RS485 to ESP. Great,…

  24. Hi everyone, I'm currently using SolarAssistant and I’ve been trying to disable the Work Mode Timer, but I haven’t had any success through the web interface it doesn’t seem to apply or save the changes properly in my case. I was wondering if there’s any way to do this via SSH or from the Linux side directly? I’m comfortable using the command line and would really appreciate any insights, scripts, or config file changes that might help. Thanks in advance for any help!
