August 15Aug 15 Good day all,I'm writing in hopes that someone will be able to assist me. I bought the attached from Geewiz, which had Solar Assistant already loaded on the Raspberry Pi 4. The setup was simple: I plugged in the device at my house for the configuration, loaded my account (to set up remote access), and moved to the inverter. I'm trying to use the inverter values for the battery, just to get everything working before I attempt the next step and plug in the Battery Cable in the RS232 port of my battery.I'm accessing the device without an issue, but I simply cannot connect to my inverter inside the "Configuration" menu. It just says "No response address 1 (It cycles through to 15)" and then I get the "No response, retrying in 15s" error.I have tried the following:Changed the Modbus ID on the inverter itself from 0 to 1Plugged my RS485-to-USB cable into the RS485 port, instead of BMS2 (as instructed by Solar Assistant Support)Restarted my Raspberry Pi 4 multiple timesReinserted the cable (I used all USB ports and restarted between every change)My Hardware:Inverter: Sunsynk-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4Battery: SUN-BCU-M-080H1-OTCan someone please assist? I'd greatly appreciate it.Thanks in advance!
August 16Aug 16 From memory there is another way via the RS232 port from where the Logger connects. It's a DB9 looking printer port. Look on SA if they sell it. The Sunsynks kept on changing firmware & all sorts of stupid things. One thing for sure the RS232 always works.

August 17Aug 17 Yes that port is on the side. Your inverter must be able to accept a logger. This plugs into the Logger port.

August 17Aug 17 Yes, you will need the Rs232 cable first. And because they share the same port, it's a choice one or the other. Physically impossible to have both in at the same time.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I will update the discussion as we go along.
August 21Aug 21 Greetings,Did you win with the setup?if not, please use the following method that I have been using for the past 3 years, it works on both my 8kw single phase and 12kw 3 phase. You’ll need the 485-USB converter, see picture attached (less than R100)You’ll have to cut your network cable and use pin 1,2 and 3.Note that you can have a separate cable running from the 485 port in your inverter or use the first 3 pins going to your battery BMS port (BMS uses pin 4 and 5)The other side of the converter uses your normal printer cable to usb which will go to your Solar assistant.Let me know if you need more clarity or if you are around Joburg south I can come help, I can even bring mine to test before you continue buying more stuff.Thanks.

Not yet, I sent the cable back to Geewiz for a replacement as advised by solar assistant support. I should be receiving the replacement cable next week. I'll keep this thread updated. Thanks a lot!
