Hi I have just bought Solar Assistant and I'm trying to setup MQTT to Home Assistant. I have followed the instructions on Solar Assistant website with no luck I emailed Solar Assistant and they were very unhelpful they just sent links to their pages on their website which I had already followed with no luck. They also said to ask on here. I already have Home Assistant working with MQTT devices from Zigbee2MQTT they are all working great but nothing from Solar Assistant I can't even see anything when I Connect using MQTT explorer. with my solar assistant IP address. I have attached images to show where I'm at the second image with the red box is what Solar Assistant websi…

Hi Just busy with foundation for a new garage. Don't quite have space for a full double garage. I need storage space. So the width will be just short of a double garage. Single garage door with a good amount of storage space to the side. Trying to decide on the garage door motor, automations etc. I have Centurion D5 smart motors at 2 properties. They seem to work well. Easy to configure via the app. So was thinking of going for Centurion product for the garage door. Pool pump and a few other devices on Sonoff. The garage will have access from my office. I'll be walking in the for work regularly. Putting a proper ceiling in there, and like the idea of downlights in…

I have 3 Centurion gate motors. 2 x D5 Smart, and installing the D6 smart at the property behind my house. Busy building a garage and planning to use a Centurion SD04 Phone connects to the gate motors via bluetooth. What's the best way to go about getting these linked to Android Auto. Suppose you'd need some hardware? I have a couple of Sonoff devices around the house.

To all the Astute owners, can you confirm the process for pairing was as stated in the guide. The steps for both the automatic and manual pairing fails. (please excuse the copy paste below) 1. I can confirm, the network is 2.4 GHz, 2. and I can see the CBI ASC is connected on my WiFi network. See the screenshot below. 3. The blue light has stopped flashing and shows solid blue. 4. However, the app never gets past the pairing process and fails with both the automatic and manual pairing. 5. Every method of pairing shows the CBI connecting to the network and I can ping the CBI. There is no firewall between the CBI and my phon…

I finally got my CBI Astute Smart Controllers connected to Home Assistant via HACS and Tuya Local. But at this point I noticed a couple of things. My one CBI Astute is newer and reporting as V2 which also shows Energy, but the older one does not (even though both seems identical on the CBI App and were recording power/energy). Any Idea how I can or if it's possible to report energy on the older model? Will be great if I can add this as part of my Energy Dashboard which has all my inverter (Sunsynk via Solar Assistant) values on there including total consumption and consumption from the grid. When adding the devices with Tuya Local I could not use "Manually provi…

I have a 5kw Sunsynk inverter and 2x 5.32 Sunsynk batteries. I've connected my inverter to Solar Assistant via RS485. I have taken the plunge and replaced my Waveshare USB to 1 CH RS485 with the Waveshare USB to 4CH RS485. Setting up for the inverter was a breeze. From to However, I'm battling to get my Sunsynk batteries connected. I've set it up to be on ACM2 (3rd channel) as I plan to get another inverter, which will be on ACM1. Dip switched 1&3 are on, while 2&4 are off. I've followed the information on https://solar-assistant.io/help/battery/sunsynk, using a only 3 wires in a CAT5, on pins 1-3, and it is plugged into RS232 on the master batte…

I need to redo my pool pump wiring. I want to put a wifi controller in for the pump, lights etc. Possibly put in a connection point for some garden lighting while I'm busy with this. I have a 1,1kw pump. I have a few new/unused Sonoff devices at home. An electrician I spoke to also suggested the CBI Astute Wifi controller. I like the idea of being able to use the physical remote control on the pool pump. I have a the following: Sonoff 4CHPRO with RF control This has the RF channel, but it's only 10amp, so I am not sure it's suitable for the pool pump. Sonoff THR320 + Temperature sensor and extension cable I wanted to connect the temperature pro…

Hi all. I have scanned all the conversations I could find about the CBI Astute (ASC and ASI) switches, and how to integrate them to Home Assistant. I've managed to get to the point where I have 3 of them working. Somewhat. But I'm hoping someone here knows a bit more than I've been able to figure out so far. What I have done: Instead of using the "CBI Home" App, I used the "Tuya Smart" App to sync each device to my home Wifi. I have the Tuya accounts set up (both Dev and App accounts), and so I can control the devices via the Tuya Cloud and App. I have the standard Tuya Integration for HA, installed and working, able to control the switches, …

Hi everyone, apologies if this has been asked before but doing a search didn't find anything. I'm looking for something that I could you to open/close my entrance gate remotely (i.e. to let someone in/out while I'm at the office etc.). I've seen some smart rf transmitters/remotes but none of them support code-hopping so won't be suitable for my gate motor (Centurion D5 Evo), even better if it can tell me if the gate is open/closed etc. and if I can remotely do full open or just passenger gate open (my motor has a setting where it only opens partially for someone to walk in but won't fit a car. Any suggestions, only one I can find is this unit but there doesn't s…

Hi everyone, I'm struggling with my ESP32 and TTL-RS485 board setup for integrating my Deye 8kW inverter with Home Assistant. I've followed the "Solar Integration" YouTube video and used the Slipix GitHub setup. While I know there are better integration methods, I've already invested in these boards and spent considerable time and effort, so I really want to get this working. Current Issue: Sensors: All sensors show as offline Control: The control options in Home Assistant show values on the sliders, but they do not actually change anything on the inverter side. Wiring: I believe my wiring is correct and have even changed the GPIO pins mult…

Maybe not 🙂 It does not quite seem like people are doing it this way. Caveat: Its a little bit premature because I'm not quite done with it. I'm sharing it here just in case someone else is interested so I know in future if I should make it publicly accessible. I'm reading my sunsynk inverter via RS232. I prefer it this way because the Sunsynk Serial port has power which can power an ESP32 connected to a RS232 TTL converter. Dont like cables that dangle all over the show. This way is much cleaner compared to what I have seen. I simply created a replacement dongle that is fully customizable. Its up to the user to enter the address IDs to be retrieved from the …

Hi, Around 13 years ago we installed solar geyser with evacuated tubes that utilizes SR81 controller (touch wood still works well). Working from home gave me opportunity to switch on geyser when batteries are full and store excess energy, which works great but I would like to automate whole process. I have HA running using @kellerza setup to get all the info from Inverter, weather forecast and few extra bits (just installed CBI astute to control pool pump). Function wise I would like that HA can switch on heating element and set max temperature (for start). Did anybody hack SR81 so far, if I would like to do it where to start (decode protocol, poi…

I'm considering cutting my primarily Home Assistant / Node-RED based home automation over to the Matter Standard. I see that Tasmota now offers Matter support in some of its builds and there is a Home Assistant integration. I briefly enrolled a Tasmota device into my HA and the process and operation was pretty painless. (Once I realised that Tasmota devices only offer Matter as an optional interface, the device does not become primary Matter device.) I'm very enthusiastic about the principle of the standard, and it appears that CoAP is super responsive. What experiences have people had? Is it worth committing, or is it still bleeding edge and needs a bit more ti…

Hi All, We have a very long passage with only 1 light switch at the one end. I have chased the wall installed a 1gang box and pipe up in to the ceiling on the other end of the passage. now I know I can go old school and replace the cable with a 2 pair cable between the 2 switches (2 lever) and control the light like that. The ting is it feels very old school and I then need to go buy 18M of 4 core cable etc. I might be missing it but is there not a sonoff etc smart switch system that i can install that have 1 controller but 2 switches? I know the smart home stuff will not be cheaper than the cable but maybe it is time to get more smart…

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while, learning quite a bit here. I have a question. I've got a CBI Astute Smart Controller, and I'm very happy with it. I want to recommend it to friends of mine, but my issue (from what I can see) is that it can only be paired to one cellphone at a time, and for them, they need access from more than one cellphone. I've tried both the CBI and SmartLife app, and can't pair it more than once. Is there a way around it? Or should I look at a different device, like the Sonoff POWR320D? THX a mil!
