Thanks @L_D your setup looks pretty impressive!! The Geyserwala has actually saved me loads of money. Just after I installed it I could see from the graphs that there was a big heat loss at night. I don't have the screenshots of my graphs any more but it looked a lot like their example: https://www.instagram.com/p/C-w0ho6tCm6/ I got a plumber to put in the heat trap loops and now over summer we hardly used any electricity to heat water.

I've had the Geyserwise MAX with water filled solar collector tubes for more than 10 years now. Apart from a service once every few years, it just runs and produces plenty of free hot water. It is really an excellent brand!! My only issue was changing the settings is awkward and having to look in the cupboard to see what the temperature was. But I solved that recently by adding the Geyserwala Connect smart WiFi upgrade which gives me a full featured app so I can see and control my geyser from anywhere. I highly recommend the WiFi upgrade from Thingwala it completes the trusted Geyserwise brand perfectly.

I collected up my Geyserwala Connect yesterday, and it looks like I got the latest model – super sleek design! I just installing it this evening, and wow, the setup was a breeze, especially after watching the install video. So far, I’ve set up the timers, and oh my word, that alone makes it worth it! I also shared the app with the rest of the family – it’s neat how simple they’ve made it to share access. Now I’m keen to see the graphs start populating so I can check my system’s performance.

Hey all! I've been thinking about remote control for my Geyserwise Max setup and the other day I saw the Geyserwala Connect upgrade from Thingwala. It looks pretty cool. Having the usage graphs would be super helpful, especially since I’ve been wondering if the solar part of my system is working okay - and my wife is not always impressed with the water temperature 😒! It also looks like it has some nifty features like the boost which automatically turns off, and also setting timers looks a lot easier than on the old panel. Both would give me better control over my electricity usage. I saw some really good reviews for using the Geyserwala with automation (which I may try) but what is it like by itself? Or in my case should I just go for the Tuya upgrade, actually made by Geyserwise - even though it seems reviews are mixed??? I’m a bit hesitant because previously I've felt the pain of smart devices with fiddly setup, poor apps and other nonsense. How’s your experience of the Geyserwala Connect been? I’d really appreciate any opinions before I make a decision. 🙏 Thanks in advance!

I'm considering cutting my primarily Home Assistant / Node-RED based home automation over to the Matter Standard. I see that Tasmota now offers Matter support in some of its builds and there is a Home Assistant integration. I briefly enrolled a Tasmota device into my HA and the process and operation was pretty painless. (Once I realised that Tasmota devices only offer Matter as an optional interface, the device does not become primary Matter device.) I'm very enthusiastic about the principle of the standard, and it appears that CoAP is super responsive. What experiences have people had? Is it worth committing, or is it still bleeding edge and needs a bit more time? What other manufacturers do you know of that are now supporting Matter? What is has the experience of enrolling and using with the Google/Amazon home hubs been like? What issues have you encountered? Many thanks!!
