  3. I had looked into this as opposed to a geyser/heat pump option. But this last line on the EMS website with regards to the warranty based on the location from the coast put me off this. Uploading Attachment...

  5. I also couldnt understand it, I had tried a google search this afternoon but wasn't able to find anything stating that.
  6. Hi All, Putting out this question to hear ideas/options. I am looking to help out my parents. My main goal is to reduce electricity useage They currently have an old verticle 150l low pressure kwikot geyser but it is nearing its last legs That household has 6 people, (4 adults and 2 kids under 8). The kids are still covered by the flatlet with bath in the evenings (and not too much can be done about that for now). But on the other bathroom, 4 adults shower and there are day/night shifts. Meaning showers in the mornings and evenings. My plan was to get the geyserwise with solar input (there are some free panels which put me on this initial idea). Visited Plumblink here in PE today and they said that set up wont work well on a low pressure geyser and would not heat effectively. If they would likely be replacing the geyser anyway (maybe go larger than 150l thats currently there), would this geyserwise option still be the best options. Heating with solar in the day which would at least help with some of the heating. Next option would be a heat pump that while costing more would also provide a reduction in electricity useage. Plumblink suggested an elon system, that you select on a dial AC / DC (I suppose this is selecting Eskom and panels). Any ideas/comments appreciated to the closest to set and forget would be great.

  10. Thanks Scorp - Ill do a measurement check but Id estimate the lengths once added would be something line 400mm long and 1000mm. Safe to say, this will be on my project list soon :)
  11. Starting to re-read info in preparations when I'm back home now that I have purchased a second battery from Voltex at a cant pass up price. From the Sunsynk manual - The diagram below shows the layout, this is clear. But this same document does not specify cable lengths. From another reference, all lengths are to be equal. I recall reading its good practice to keep all cable runs to equal length, the cable lengths from the breaker to each battery (Positive and Negative). Could someone confirm there is no issues if I order and use the same length for that connection (Breaker to positive and negative on the batteries). The below was a paste from a source in that thread.
  12. I am still needing to purchase for the master-to-slave connection. When my initial system (1 inverter and 1 battery) was commissioned this was logged with Sunsynk for the warranty (the 10 year extended along with noting each SN). I am planning to add the second to the same warranty form with Sunsynk customer service once I get it installed. Looking at the Voltex site, they do have the typical wording about installation. Maybe best to check with them. I would think they, as the supplier will act as the link when a warranty claim is logged.
  13. Just purchased one from Voltex at this great price and came to the forum to share this info too.
  14. I was on a bit of a google searching this morning and decided to look into a second battery, to compare pricing (as one does lol). I haven't really seen much online about this. Below is from a supplier website that no longer offers Sunsynk batteris but these Eenovance ones. Has anyone gone this route successfully yet. I did note one thread on the forum with this battery name so far. Any comments and info welcome on this Quote Sunsynk has ended its royalty agreement with the previous battery manufacturing factory. This means they are now using different Sunsynk battery models, which are incompatible with the 5.32, 10.65, 15.97KWH battery models. Moving forward: Battery Add Ons: Only Eenovance batteries will be available to add to existing systems where the older Sunsynk batteries are installed. Internal Components: The batteries use the same internal components and software as before. Interoperability: The batteries have the same BMS and are 100% compatible with the old Sunsynk btteries. Warranty: They come with a 10-year warranty. Service: The distributor directly supports and repairs these batteries at 9 service centres across South Africa.
  15. Achieved a good milestone with my system, of completing my panel installation with the wiring. All finally connected and generating. Being later in the afternoon and overcast, the graph on the Solar assistant was all over the place with me testing the system putting on the kettle etc Happy so far with this progress.

  17. After what feels like an eternity with these panels taking up space in my lounge (too many project, not enough hours in a day). I finally got it right to install them on to my roof this weekend. Panels are afixed - and the wiring to follow. At least that I can do solo. Busy mounting an allbro box at the end of each string for the joins to be made before entering the roof.

I printed this one from thingiverse and it fit spot on, files below if you'd want to get that printed. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6468217 Ive seen guys use a small 20x20 pine strip as a spacer front and back.
