  1. Update on this topic: I bought 2 x US3000C's Charged the bank of 3 old US3000's to 100% Whilst the US3000's were charging I connected the two US3000C's together to balance them. Disconnected the 3 x US3000's, connected the 2 x US3000C's. Turned system on and programmed the Goodwe to accept 2 x US3000C's Whilst the 2 x US3000C's were charging (they arrived at 52% SOC) I contacted Goodwe support and they updated the firmware on the inverter online. Once the 2 x US3000C's were at 100% SOC I joined all five batteries - US3000C master, US3000C, US3000, US3000, US3000 Turned the system on and programmed the Goodwe to accept US3000Cx4+ All well and system running 100%. I did not update the firmware on the old 3 x US3000's Hope this is helpful.
  2. Many thanks for the comments and advice. Question - better for me to buy US3000C's or UP5000's? Cant seem to find US5000's.
  3. Good day, does anyone have experience in connecting different series Pylontech batteries? I was selling my existing 3 x US3000 batteries then found out that it is okay to mix different series batteries as per other posts and advice from a supplier. So I am going to buy two UP5000 or possibly two US3000C (which may be better idea, not sure). However I am still not convinced as the advice given was that I should put the one UP5000 as master (fine, happy with that) then the 3 x US3000, and last in the string the second UP5000 (which I am skeptical about). (And update firmware on all three US3000). I would have thought UP5000, UP5000, US3000, US3000, US3000 would have been correct. Does anyone know for sure? Secondly, I have a Goodwe GW5048D-ES inverter. When I originally set it up, it recognised the 3 x US3000 batteries quite fine and has worked perfectly for two years. Will it recognise a mix of batteries? Thanks in advance for advice.
  4. Having now established that I can just add a couple of UP5000's to the battery bank I am no longer selling the 3 x US3000's. Thanks to all who gave advice. According to Pylontech support so long as the most recent battery is the master all will work fine. Evidently all pylontech are compatible if configured correctly Only advice I am sceptical about was to put one UP5000 as master, then the three US3000 and then second UP5000 last!!!! UP5000>US3000C>US2000C>US3000>US2000 For same type of module always use the latest production unit as master. *Mixture using battery deployment option: Master battery (1st) UP5000 Slave 2nd ~8th UP5000/US3000C/US2000C/US3000/US2000 Slave 9th ~16th UP5000/US3000C/US2000C (Copied from a post by SYC Oct 2021)
  5. First installed 20/1/2020 Original warranty 7 years, so just under 5 years remaining. Reason for sale - upgrading R 15,500 each. See attachments.
  6. I am waiting on Dox - if no response then I will contact others who have responded.
  7. Hi Dox, are you still looking for Pylontech 3000 batteries? I have 3, complete with all cabling, but no brackets. SOH 96%
  8. My friend managed to get the price of the 15/12HV reduced and has gone ahead and had it installed. Thanks again for all your responses and assistance.
  9. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. The quote on the 15/12HV was 112k. I am awaiting some further quotes on a 15/12HV as I also could not find any prices online. I have however had some good feedback from BlueNova who can make up a 104V unit. I don't see much point in using a 48V lithium battery due to the 50A limit of the inverter.
  10. Please could someone advise on the following:- I am helping a friend who has an Ingecon Sun Storage 6TL inverter. Up till recently he has had 16 x 12 V lead acid batteries in series connected to the inverter. 9 of these batteries have "died" so he now has 7 in series. He is wanting to now go Lithium Ion batteries. The inverter can handle DC input from 40 - 300V. His installer has quoted on Freedom Won 15/12HV but the price is prohibitive. I have a couple of ideas to help him out 1.) 2 x Freedom Won 5/4 in series - 2.) 3 x Pylontech US3000 in series - 3.) 8 of the Blue Nova 13V - 108Ah Lithium Ion Batteries in series Am I on the right track or barking up the wrong tree?
