  1. Hi, I've got a Growatt 5000 ES, with 4 x PylonTech US3000Cs on the same firmware version as you. Just checked and my setting 2 is 100A. That said, I upgraded the firmware because my Solar charge was limited to 3000W on the 04 firmware on my 8 x 540W JA solar panels. After the upgrade I got 3500W coming in. Now, about 3 months later, I'm back to only getting 3000W max. No ideas to help you. Just sharing my experience.
  2. Eventually got this working today. Added another battery hoping the newer battery would resolve the issues we experienced on getting BMS to work (it didn't). Using the same configuration of 0010 on dip switches with the CAN cable and protocol 52 seemed to work, but the inverter loses comms after about 15 - 20 minutes. Got it working via the RS485 cable (meant for the older growatt inverters) that came with the battery on the RS485 port via protocol 1. Dip switches set to 0110. Hope this helps somebody.
  3. It was provided by the installer. But I'm in Gauteng. I heard the rules are a bit different in Cape Town.
  4. You may be right. My batteries are usually fully charged before I reach a consistent high solar throughput. Up until that point it climbs up to 3.5kW. I only see the 3.8kW when it is cloudy and the throughput is intermittent. I assumed it was because it was later in the day. I'm still learning...😉
  5. Could be completely unrelated, but my solar input was limited to 3000W on my 8 x 540W JA solar panels, until I upgraded the firmware on the inverter. Now I'm getting up to 3800W. Just an option to consider. On the Growatt 5000 ES.
  6. The reset that you are referring to is to reset the settings, not the firmware. I asked the Growatt support guy whether this is necessary after flashing (as I read somewhere) and he said restarting the inverter is all that is needed.
  7. Glad you got it flashed and thanks for posting how you got it resolved. Is your inverter now working correctly again and your firmware version showing correctly?
  8. Unfortunately, I'm no expert when it comes to these things. Flashing the firmware was extremely stressful. I don't have any further advice. Hopefully someone else on here can assist. What is your inverter showing as its current firmware after flashing? Are you getting any error messages that indicates that it is failing?
  9. Yes, I disconnected everything else (grid, solar, house), and left only the batteries connected as normal. I also switched off the house DB to make sure nothing is connected and that input and output on inverter shows 0. After doing that, i could flash with no issues, other than the head ache I developed from listening to the constant beeping.
  10. There are two. As I understand it, the one is for the inverter and the other one for the MPPT. You need to flash both, one at a time.
  11. I can't comment on the US2000s, as I have US3000Cs, but the max charge rate is being set by die battery's BMS. I added two more batteries today and could charge them at 2500+W on the new firmware.
  12. It is in the.rar file, which you will see once you unrar it. It works the same as a zip file.
  13. I used winrar, but I'm sure you can use any other took that can open .rar files.
  14. Did you ever get this resolved? I'm trying to help someone get their dyness battery talking to the Growatt 5000 ES via BMS. After configuring it, all looks fine, but then randomly trips and recovers until switching it back to US2 settings. This is using 0010 on dip switches, via CAN cable, protocol 52.
  15. No issues so far, but only been running it for a few days. Follow the instructions included in the download.
  16. Sent you the link they sent me. I used Internet Explorer to download it. Chrome doesn't work.
  17. 040 04 301 and 041 04 301.
  18. Got it from local Growatt support, after logging a call on the Shinephone app.
  19. Is this not only applicable when overload on battery happens, ie. It switches to grid if running on batteries and the batteries can't handle the load? Where the question was related to whether the Growatt can pass through more than 5kW from the grid if load exceeds it? I'm asking because I'm still learning myself, not because I'm questioning your answer.
  20. It hard resets. You can't exceed the 5kW limit for more than a few seconds.
  21. Just to provide an update if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. Received the newest firmware from Growatt (040 06 104 and 041 06 104), which seems to have resolved the issue. Will keep monitoring, though.
  22. Good morning, I have a Growatt 5000 ES connected to 2 PylonTech US3000C batteries communicating through BMS. I have also connected 8 x 540W JA solar panels connected in series. Everything seems to be working properly, but it seems the MPPT is limiting solar power input to 3000W. When more load is required, pulls from solar up to 3000W and takes the rest from battery. My theory is that this is because the maximum charging current is controlled by the batteries's BMS. There doesn't seem to be separate settings to limit the charging current for the batteries and for general solar input. Any confirmation on this theory would be appreciated. Following the above theory, an additional theory is that adding another battery would increase the maximum charging current set by the BMS (e.g. if each battery has a charging current of 30A, the BMS is currently setting the maximum charging current on the inverter to 60A, 2 x 30A. Adding another battery would increase this to 90A, 3 x 30A). Any thoughts on this theory? Lastly, if I'm completely off the mark, any advice on removing the 3000W solar input limit?
