  1. Looking for a pace bms to replace on one of my sunsynk sun bat 5.32 batteries
  2. Hi all Is there any BMS with active balancer! available in South africa.
  3. Hi all i am looking for a link cable to link my two sunsynk batteries ( to connect them in parallel) the Sun Batt 5.23 series or the pin outs for the link in link out ports
  4. I have 7 430 watt panels that i bought from solarman in pta and this summer it was producing over 3kw from 11:30 to about 13:30 sitting at about 20 deg facing north. i still get around 2.2 Kw midday now. The system is off grid and I am running every thing of it even the bore hole. I am now thinking of fitting a geyser to try and utilize the system better. Then I am all so going to fit a second string to the Synsynk inverter for cloudy days. I started the gen set just one day this year to top up my batteries. This the best money i ever spend to go off grid, on Sunny days in the summer the panels preform better that the spec that is printed on them.
  5. Hypercut how do i get the firmware update. How do i load it
  6. Have Hubble sorted out the comms problems with the sunsynk 5 kw inverter and hubble riot system so you can see your inverter running with the riot system.
  7. I think it is a personal choice and if you can afford it. I am off grid and if I do not recover all the money spend on the system it is okay I did my part to make my carbon footprint as small as possible. No load shedding, we do not even realize when there a power outage.
  8. I would like to be able to see each cells voltage, Internal resistance, balancing voltage and amps. i You can monitor these parameters you will get a much better picture off what state your batteries are in. Because it all is new and the public needs to be educated no battery supplier can tell you what these values are, it is then easy to make a statement it is your (consumer or DIY) fault. If you could log these parameter a lot of battery supplies will be out of business because you will be able to proof that the cells were faulty. I think there is only one battery supplier that is doing it in SA but there software is not available for the consumer. My experience after many years of flying Electric RC Planes up to 60 cc in electrical equivalent. I do not even Know if you could communicate with the BMS and if these parameter are available on the current BMS systems Installed on the Batteries. The Battery supplier's needs to tell us what you are able to do with the BMS and do you have the option to read some off these parameters. What Do the Supplier's define as a Cycle.
  9. To go off grid is a total mind set change. I had a KWH meter in My DB panel For more than a Year and I recorded the KWH usage every month. I then id my solar according to the results. I still find that the system is to large and i Have a lot of wasted energy generated so much so that i am thinking of fitting a normal geyser to use some of the energy and then remove the gas geyser or put it on standby.
  10. I am totally off grid with no Power supplied from Eskom because i live on a small holding. There is no services available not even running water or Any other services.
  11. I am totally off grid with a 5Kw Sunsynk inverter and 7 x 430 watt solar panels and 2 Hubble batteries. Gas geyser and stove, run the borehole pump, electric oven washing machine, Iron, tumble drier, and lights at night. Have 80% of my batteries left in the morning on most day's depending if the wife has used the oven at night. I run all my power tools, inverter welder, crosscut saw, table saw. I have not yet been able to get the inverter to kick out on over current. Then I am still looking for work for the system during the day because just after 10 in the mornings the batteries is full, 11h30 to12h30 the water tanks are full, the rest of the time the system is on idle. I am now thinking of fitting a electric geyser to use some off the power. I am as happy as a pig in S***^^%t with my system. Self installed. I will now see in the winter if I need to add another string off solar panels. Whom knows it might work as is.
  12. A question that came up !!! Is the can connection (pin out) the same between a 5.5 Kw synsynk inveter and 8 kw Sunsynk inverter. I am not naming any battery suppliers but they say that the monitoring is working on the 8 kw inverter and not on the 5kw inverter. Any truth in this statment. CJ
