  1. I have the same problem. Installer swopped phases in all combinations. Did not work? What did you do?
  2. Hi guys Advice needed. I am moving my Axpert 5kva/4kw inverted to run my pool pump only. It has 4 x 100a battery backup and I would like to add solar panels so it runs basically off grid during day time. The manual indicates 145vdc for the pv input The pool pump is a 750w unit. I am looking at the artsolar 300 w panels with these specs Typical Output (Watt): 300W + 3% Typical Voltage (Vmp): 32.6V Typical Amperage (Imp): 9.21A https://artsolar.net/product/300-watt-solar-panel-monocrystalline-full-black/ I just want to confirm that 4 of these panels in series will be sufficient for my needs? Thanks guys Firoz
  3. So at that price of just over 5 grand. Is it a good buy considering that it is a 200ah battery but with good cycle life at low dod
  4. Where did you get your batteries from
  5. I was drawn to maintenance free and the the high cycles if I only go for 20% dod. The trojans work out cheaper but they need to be topped up. Now I just don't know what to get
  6. Jhb based. And must be brand new.
  7. Hi Powerforumites I am looking for Omnipower 260ah Batteries to start building my battery bank. I like that the maintenance free. Any suggestions of? where to get them at a good price?
  8. Now to find reasonably priced 200ah or more batteries
  9. I have 2 inverters now. And may upgrade to a 3rd later. Currently preparing my battery purchase. But want to buy the max allowable for the inverters. Would be great if I can use 16 batteries as mentioned earlier. (Sorry for not crediting poster. On phone)
  10. I know. 10 or 12 panels per inverter. 250 or 300w
  11. Hi there I am busy buying the hardware for a grid tied solar system. I already have 2 off 5kva Axpert inverters. Looking to supply on average 30 - 40kwh per day. I do have 3 phase electricity but don't have 3 phase appliances etc. Just try to balance the loads. In fact have an emergency inverter and battery on one phase which keeps lights and some plugs on. The other 2 phases supply everything else with ease. Questions 1) how many ah can the 2 inverters in parallel take. I am looking to get about 200ah 12v batteries. 3 or 4 parallel strings. 600 or 800ah 2) Should I rather do a bank per inverter although this will be expensive. Notes: A) I do have a large flat roof that can handle even 30 pv panels at least 1 phase will be connected to eskom for ovens, pool with heat pump and underfloor heating if used. Looking at gas oven options. Unlikely that they used at the same time so single phase will be ok. C) I may look at a 3rd inverter later
  12. Hi The geysers are about 15 m apart on a flat concrete roof. So it's possible to join them or centralise with insulated pipes and the heat pump/s. Why such a big heat pump? I don't know. I didn't do my homework. The house was built from scratch and with all the mayhem I missed it. I wouldn't mind at all putting a single large system which would cost less than a 2 seperated systems. 300L or more. Any recommendations?
  13. Hi. This is my first post and i need guidance I am planning to go grid tied over the next few months. I already have an Axpert 5kva inverter and will get my second one this week. Will take a few months to sort out. I need to probably add about 20kwh max overnight with the inverters and batteries but that will be sorted later. My problem is I have electrical geysers with heat pumps which are not optimised. No timer switches. I want to convert to solar One geyser is a 150L Kwikot and the other is a Duratherm 150L (3kw element). The heat pumps are Tasol TAS4-DU Heat Pump - 5.2 kw models. I want to replace the geysers with a solar solution and integrate with the heat pumps. Its a minefiled. Not sure what to get. 1) What is the system i should consider. Evacuated tubes or flat panel and with a low consumption backup electrical. With timer switch added. 2) Times for hot water are for afternoon/evening and morning 3) Recommend a company to me to install in Ormonde near gold reef city. 4) I dont want to spend a fortune coz the whole backup solar system is going to cost me a fortune.. 5) Dont want to retrofit unless the elements in the existing geysers can be downgraded to say 1kw elements. I hope that can be done. Any advice would be appreciated Thx
