@superdiy, thanks now I understand 100% What I want to know is length of the wire (sorted now) and thickness. Looks like I can use same size as supplied by victron for the mid connection by connecting the victron wire directly to a terminal and the another wire of same size to the other terminal with a fuse in(5A). Sorry for all this but I am not so clued up with all these shenanigans. I rather ask 10 times before I make a F-UP here

Ok seems that one can use any terminal for midpoint as long as it is connected to the other bank as well. Kleva I see you have connected the pos and neg for your midpoint but the installation diagram shows that you have to bridge the negatives and b2 is connected to the neg terminal.

Thanks superdiy, I will leave the batteries as is and add buss bars both sides and ensure that the length of cable is equal length both sides. I do understand that having the cable as short as possible is best but my setup just have to work this way. 1more question, the cable between pos and neg to measure midpoint need to be equal length to any other or just as short as possible between the terminals. I think of using a copper connector in the middle to connect the BMV, will that be fine?

Best for me would be to turn batteries in the same direction, that will make the distance between terminals the same length. My wires from the negative to the fuse and positive to the fuse is also not the same length, need to fix that also.

@jdp, can you please give advise on the buzz bars. Will it be better to turn the batteries that the termanels face in the same direction? Unfortunately they can not stand in a 90 deg orientation, I do not have place for that, would be the best.

I have the same setup with my batteries but I see you have a wire connecting battery2 neg to battery7 pos. I do not have that cable in. I believe it is for the victron midpoint reading. Any other reason for that?

Jaco, I have the same problem, the geysers can not be used to up the load. I only have 1 inverter and 9 x 310W panels with 8 x 200ha battery bank. By 10hoo in the morning the 100% soc is reached according to the axpert and then the system is floating.Will install the BMV 702 this week some time. Will see what the real figures is then. My 4.5 kw micro inverter system is working to its max as all the possible power is used by the workshop, if it is running. On weekends if the shop is off I change it over to the house 2nd and 3rd phase where the washing machines ens is on the make use of the power , but that is only for 2 or 3 hours a day, so a lot of waste as there is no backup storage for them. My average on the 2790W system is 7Kwh/day and the average on the 4.5Kw is 16Kwh/day. Taking in to account that on the 4.5 kw system 9 x 250Wpanels face east and 9 face west, not the best direction but that is how I could manage it. Well it does feel good to know that I generate around 23kwh a day of my own power, still along way to get to my +-120kwh a day consumption.

Thanks Chris, that means that you will have to control that geyser to not connect when on battery or when solar can't provide enough power.

I see that AICC , Emoncms and PVoutput gives a efficiency value. (kWh/kW) The I also see that the size of the system does not dictate that value, for instance Aloe Ridge Farm with only 0.600kw plant have the highest efficiency of 4.535kWh/kW) Myself with a 2790kw plant ended up with a 2.261kWh/kw efficiency. What do I have to read in this value or what is a good value?

@plonkster, I am looking at the emonTx as to try and understand what my system is doing or how to manage it better. As in the picture you can see that I have two different solar systems, on the left a 9 x 310W panels and Axpert 5Kva inverter with 8 x 200ah Renesola battery bank. This system feeds the red phase in the house only, on this phase is all lights and plugs except the plugs in kitchen (only the fridge and freezer) The yellow and blue phase is still grid connected. On these 2 phases is washing machines, geysers, stove ens. On the right hand side is 3 sets of 6 x 250W panels with micro inverters, 1 x set per phase. Want to expand this system with time. What I try to measure is the Kwh for the workshop per phase and what the micro inverters produce per phase. To do that I need to measure at 6 different places. I also need to measure what the house consumption is and there I need to measure the yellow and blue phase and the red phase before the inverter. This is a total of 9 readings. My question now is, will I be able to do this with the emonTx and will I be able to get some useful information out of the system.

Well I have downloaded AICC and not working, tried Solormon with no luck. Need SQL server ens, my tablet with win10 is just not running these apps for one or other reason. I am no programmer so no software for me.

My solar Setup
Well to install micro inverters is plug and play, they connect one in each other and then you feed it directly into the grid. No dc isolators or any fuses needed,I only have a normal ac isolator between pv and db. Installation by far easier than string inverters with batteries. They do not have a grid limiter so don't use them with prepaid meters! @Louw, that is no problem to do but what I want to do is to move a phase over a week end to the phase that the washing machine is on. On the moment I am wasting all the possible produced power when the shop is not working. Eventually I will anyway over produce as I am planning at least another 12 panels with micro inverters, roof space big problem.
