Sunsynk app low battery notification?
Hi all, Is there a way to get push notifications on the Sunsynk app when the battery SOC falls below the low battery setting? I get notifications when the grid connects/disconnects, but more important for me is when the battery is close to dying so I can reduce power consumption.

Sunksynk still charging Hubble battery at 100%
So my system has been working fine for a while now. However, today I noticed 2 things: The battery got charged very quickly this morning to 100% (normally takes all day due to a slow down in charge rate around 90%) It's showing as 100% but still drawing 100W Is this something to be worried about? See images attached. My setup is: 5kW Sunsynk inverter + Hubble AM2 5.5kW

Sunsynk app - can see other people's plants?
So randomly when I log into the Synksynk app or via sunsynk.net I see other people's plants. I can view all their equipment and everything. This morning I got some plants in Finland. Other times were plants in SA. If I log out and back in, then I only see my plant. Anyone else experience this? Seems like a particularly bad privacy leak 🙃

Sunsynk 5kw settings for solar
Thanks for the feedback @GreenFields and @wolfandy - much appreciated. So I had the charge rate set at 40 based on the recommended settings here: https://www.hubblelithium.co.za/sunsynk (which is actually 30) I've adjusted to 50 though and will see how it goes. I don't think the charge rate is a major issue though. The battery went from about 40% at 6:30am to around 86% at 8:49am just off solar. That's when it slowed right down as per the graph below. There's plenty of solar output because if I use an appliance that pushes up the usage it immediately covers it, so I think it's as @wolfandy mentioned and the BMS/inverter is limiting it. I believe so - at least I paid for it 😅 is there a way to check? I see I do get BMS info on the Inverter such as SOH. Will monitor it and see how it goes.

Sunsynk 5kw settings for solar
Hi all, So I finally got solar installed and connected to my setup, and now trying to work out the right settings under System Mode. So far it looks to be working as expected, however, I've come across one issue: it's not fully charging to 100% - it seems to stop at 89%. See picture of current settings: My setup is: Sunsynk Sun 5Kv Hubble AM2 Lithium Battery 5.5kWh 10x JA Solar 460W I think the obvious answer maybe is that the "Power" setting should be 5500? My other question is. In the mapping of the system it doesn't show a house icon. There is a CT coil installed and the geyser/stove is on non-essentials before the inverter. Does this mean it isn't supplementing the non-essential at the moment? Thank you!

Is 10x 460w solar panels too many for 5kw inverter/battery?
It's 5 degrees facing North-East. The others are North-West (I incorrectly stated in my original post the directions). I'm not sure what the intent is from the installer for the MPPTs, but I'm assuming using both (1 string on each MPPT)?

Is 10x 460w solar panels too many for 5kw inverter/battery?
Hi all, So I have a Sunsynk 5kw + Hubble 5kw battery system and looking to add solar panels. An installer has quoted me for 10x 460w panels (4x North-West at 30 degree angle, and 6x flat on garage roof facing North-East at a 5 degree angle). There's going to be some extra loss due to the flat laying panels (but decent coverage most of the day), however, my main concern is that I will be over sizing what I can actually consume. I use about 550kWh a month (so around 15 - 20kWh a day), and it's split between essential (mainly aircons and heaters) and non-essential (solar geyser, stove, tumble dryer, etc). I don't plan on adding another battery anytime soon. Since my usage is fairly low, do you think I'm adding too many panels and will lead to excess wasted energy due to the limited battery capacity (ie. I can only consume so much while the panels produce energy, and the battery can only last a few hours when there's no production)? Thanks.

Thanks so much for the explanation, @Steve87 - really appreciate it. The safety reason for those grid-tied inverters totally makes sense. I can now look for a more affordable system and go with the off-grid setup. Just need to find a competent installer in CT who will be able to action it.

Thanks! I've gone through the guide and it's definitely helpful on a number of aspects. So I'm looking to isolate certain plugs onto its own DB board and connect an inverter with battery and solar to power it. This seems to fall into the "Standalone or off grid PV systems" definition fine. The problem is that the inverter will still need power from the grid for when there isn't enough solar power (and fallback to battery during load shedding). So when you say "the AC input Breaker that feeds the Offgrid inverter is classified as an appliance", this setup is actually fine and it is still considered "Standalone or off grid PV systems", and so I can get any inverter that works in this setup?

Spoke to a few more installers in CT, and unfortunately all the same thing. No go on non-NRS inverters if I want to ensure it's fully compliant and still be connected to the grid. Guess I'm going to have to fork out an extra R10k just to get one on the list 😑

Thanks all for the replies. The Growatt was actually one of the inverters I had shortlisted until I ran into the NRS thing. However, I'm still getting mixed responses on this. Both Sustainable.co.za and SolarAdvice are adamant that the inverter has to be NRS approved and on the list to be a legal install in Cape Town, regardless of whether there's feedback into the grid. So far I've been unable to find an installer in Cape Town who says the non-NRS inverters are acceptable. Are there any well known Solar companies in Cape Town who would be able to confirm that non-NRS is acceptable?

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I think the misunderstanding is from the posts I've seen on this forum like the below where it mentions that it doesn't matter if it's feeding back or not, that it will be required: The setup I'm hoping to install will not feed back into the grid, but will be a hybrid so it can pull power from both the grid and solar panels, but will have a battery backup. So I shouldn't need an NRS 097-2-1 approved inverter for this?

Hi all, Hoping to get some advice. I'm looking for an entry-level 3kw - 5kw inverter (solar ready) that is NRS 097-2-1 approved (since I'm in CPT). I've tried searching for a number of the listed inverters, but they either aren't readily available locally or they're really expensive (R20 - R30k+). Are there any inverters which check this box that's under R15k? I guess importantly it should be easy to source and have decent local support. Thanks!
