  1. Makes sense. According to my statement, My average daily consumption is 19kwh (summer months) and 25kwh (winter). Will take your suggestion. Thank you very much
  2. Thank you so much for the info. I will look into it
  3. Thank you so much for the info.
  4. Thanks. But this measure consumption per appliance. Is there an energy meter that I can use to monitor overall consumption?
  5. Hi all I’m looking at installing a solar system (panels, inverter, batteries….in stages) but first I want to determine what my actual consumption is. I don’t trust the readings from City power. What energy consumption meters can you recommend I buy and what prices am I expected to pay? Additionally, do I need to get an electrician to connect it to my DB board or is there a meter I can in one of my plug points?
  6. Are they any good?
  7. What generator do you have? I have a 7.5kva ryobi generator. Will it work with a 5kw hybrid inverter such as sunsynk, deye, etc
  8. Thanks so much all. A lot of learnings I guess. My generator is a Ryobi RG-7900K so not sure what inverter to get. @TimCam your setup sounds like what I want to eventually get. Who did your installation?
  9. Hi all I currently have a Ryobi 7.5KVA generator installed. It powers the entire house except the Pool, stove and geyser(solar). Average daily consumption is 24kwh. Winter it gets to 30kWH. I want to add an inverter to this setup. I’m looking for a hybrid inverter where I can use the generator to charge the batteries for days when we have stage 20 loadshedding I read that the generator must 1.5times the rating of the inverter for it to charge. Affordability is key for me right now but willing to build the system as time goes. So eventually I want solar panels as well. What setup can you recommend I start with and build on? Looking at a budget for R30K max for now. There are many inverter and battery brands out there (sunsynk, Kodak, Mercer, etc). Either one, I need to ensure that there is sufficient after sales support, and spares for that brand and it doesn’t costs an arm and a leg. Your advice and guidance will be much appreciated.
