It would be the ideal setup. Two strings into the two MPPTs. That also makes even better sense if the two strings are not facing the same direction.

One should "Charge them up to 100% regularly (at least once a week) and keep them at that level for an hour or two to do some balancing." I've not managed to find ANY other reference site that says this is best practice however! Potentially the Pylontechs even do some "own balancing" when above 90% SOC, I'll write to Pylontech and hope for a response on the "regularly charge to 100% to balance" recommendation.

The LOWER the DOD is, the MORE cycles you'll get out of your batteries. My setting that I'm using now on the "UPS" will therefore be to cycle between 65% SOC and 85% SOC, until such time as I've heard from Pylontech whether it is necessary/advisable to bring the SOC up to 100% at all.
I'd welcome any further thoughts or critique.

A quick update... for those that may be interested and find it useful...
I have now added some Solar Panels. 9 x 545W Canadian Solar panels. These have been added as a single string, but connected into both MPPT's using the appropriate setting allowing for this.
Now I will start checking what my peak power generating capacity is using this set-up. Holding thumbs!
Still loving the LuxPower and Pylontech set-up...

Noticing more if these posts and users not aware of balancing the batteries first.
Maybe this can be pinned somewhere.
This is what I did when adding a new US3000C battery to my existing US3000B battery bank.
Pylontech should include this in their manual.
Step 1 charge existing battery bank to 100% SOC.
Step 2 disconnect existing battery bank from inverter.
Step 3 connect new single US3000C battery to inverter and charge it to 100% SOC. It comes shipped at 50% SOC. If more than one new battery is added, first balance these together and then connect it to inverter and charge it to 100% SOC.
Step 4 disconnect new battery from inverter after 100% SOC is reached.
Step 5 connect new battery to existimg battery bank and wait for them to balance each other. Not connected to the inverter yet. All led lights should go off and battery should go into standby when this is achieved. Mine took less than 20 minutes as they all were at 100% SOC.
Step 6 connect the full battery bank to the inverter making sure that that the new battery is the master.
