LuxPower SNA5000, Pylontech US3000C - and now moving on to Panels...
Hi, Another quick update... with the current setup at the moment I am seeing around 10kWh of solar production per day (to meet the demand during solar hours). I have moved my pool pump to the part of the DB board that is now covered by solar, as I was only seeing around 6kWh initially. I have noticed some shading that is causing a bit of degradation at some parts of the day, which then relies on grid to make up a little of the difference - so will be making a plan to chop down a little of the higher trees/palms in the way, and will see what this does. So far still very happy!

Optimal use for Pylontech US3000C (and likely any other Li-ion battery)?
Hi there! Just stumbled upon this - as I am keen on trying to balance between keeping enough charge to see out load shedding, and maintaining a healthy battery long term! Did you get a reply from Pylontech? Thanks! Pete

LuxPower SNA5000, Pylontech US3000C - and now moving on to Panels...
Hi Zulfi! As I understood it - my panels are all on a single string, and then the last part before the inverter is effectively bridged, so with the two inputs into the MPPT's. I am not sure whether it would have been better to just have two separate strings (as you are contemplating), or whether the current configuration is better - but thought I would give this a go. I could still add a further 3 panels at the end of this string, without changing anything on the inverter end (apparently). Cheers! Pete

LuxPower SNA5000, Pylontech US3000C - and now moving on to Panels...
Hi all... A quick update... for those that may be interested and find it useful... I have now added some Solar Panels. 9 x 545W Canadian Solar panels. These have been added as a single string, but connected into both MPPT's using the appropriate setting allowing for this. Now I will start checking what my peak power generating capacity is using this set-up. Holding thumbs! Still loving the LuxPower and Pylontech set-up... Pete

Warning - "cederbergenergy.co.za"
Hey Ramesh. Sorry to hear! I have also reported and logged with Fraud departments at FNB and Bidvest, etc... Also placed my order on the 12th.

Hi all, Just a warning if you are contemplating placing an order with www.cederbergenergy.co.za as they do not appear to be legitimate. It appears legitimate enough at first glance, but as you dig deeper, lots of red flags - just too late for me unfortunately. Just want to make sure anyone else doesn't fall foul of this site! Be careful out there! Regards, P

What should I upgrade next?
Hi there, Although I have a different set-up, and still early in my journey, I am considering getting heat pumps for my two 150L geysers (lowers current and peak draw) as opposed to trying to cater for the existing electrical geyser load. Also, my third geyser (low usage) I swopped to a gas geyser - but not enjoying that too much - probably underspecced that, but at least I don't have 3 geysers to cater for... So my answer... I would look at a heat pump (x2) first. What are you tending towards? P

LuxPower SNA5000, Pylontech US3000C - and now moving on to Panels...
Hi all, Happy Friday... New to this, and just had a LuxPower SNA5000 inverter installed, with currently 2x US3000C batteries, with another 2 on the way, so will have "14kW" capacity. So far, loving it, and it has made a massive difference to pure convenience during all the loadshedding, and not having to manually switch on the noisy and not so frugal generator, and manually messing with the DB board everytime. Also quite like the visibility it provides of consumption and battery usage, etc. Now I am keen to move on to adding Solar Panels, so I can at least get some relief on the monthly power bill...! I am considering getting 8 Canadian Solar 450W half cell mono perc panels, and attaching this to one of the MPPT inputs in a single string for now. That leaves some more options to grow on the second string at some point in the future. This seems to be within the 3200W and 13A capacity required per MPPT on the Inverter. Just checking that there are no suggestions for a more efficient or effective set-up considering my set-up? Many thanks for your suggestions in advance! Pete
