Prepaid Meter Bypass
I think there was a request for a cool drink, if you catch my drift. This tenant has lied to me so many times I don't know when to trust her. What worries me is that piece of wire is probably rated for 40A. Surely it's safety hazard.

Prepaid Meter Bypass
The prepaid meter was in tamper mode. Today I went to investigate and found it was still in tamper mode but the lights inside the house were on. Then I discovered the live wires were bridged. According to the non-paying tenant Tshwane had installed the bridging wire. Would they do it?

Why do my down lights flicker when Eskom is off.
I have this issue when the batteries on the inverters finally fail and the generator kicks in. Strangely it doesn't seem to affect down lights on dimmers.

Greenrich U-P3686 Battery Memory Effect
I have two of these connected in parallel to my two SNA5000WPV inverters in battery shared mode. It seems that after each load shedding episode the batteries do not charge fully. Yesterday evening the batteries stopped discharging at around 36%, battery voltage low. When it started charging however it started at 0%. It seems a complete discharge resets the BMS and the full capacity of the battery is available for a few load shedding cycles.

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
Most people think this is a scam. It seems that the 3000rpm diesel generators are not suitable for inverters but the 1500rpm ones are very expensive. R100k plus.

Luxpower inverter not kicking in immediately
What happens when you turn off the main circuit breaker?

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
I also like this one https://www.spaceenergy.co.za/index.php?rt=product/product&keyword=10kva&category_id=0&product_id=177 which sells for R21k.

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
I also think someone who knows their stuff should be able to add 2 wire functionality to a generator that has an electrical starter.

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
Yes but there are very few details about this thing. It's noisy, probably doesn't have AVR.

One locally available option: https://gentechindustries.co.za/product/7-5-kva-electric-start-petrol-generator-with-2-wire-connection/

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
The generator seems to be readily available here in South Africa but the auto start add-on not so? Will I have to look overseas?

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
I don't see explicit mention of the two wire interface. This is important as it allows the inverter to turn the generator on and off when needed without human intervention.

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
I would buy it if I lived in Spain. So far, I've only found one definite local candidate but it's way too big and expensive.

Looking for Suitable Generator for Luxpower SNA5000WPV
My inverters have a generator input and a two wire port for turning the generators on and off. So, I'm thinking of adding an inverter generator say 3.2kW at least, hopefully a quiet one. Does anybody have suggestions?

Bigger circuit breakers on AC input.
I have two 5kW inverters. So when power came back the combined battery charging and power consumption tripped the breaker on the AC input to the inverter. It currently has two 40A breakers. I have now decreased the AC charging current. Can I put higher current breakers on the AC input? On the attached image the breaker on the left tripped.

Luxpower SNA5000WPV Battery Charging and Discharging
You will have to google or ask around. Only an installer with an installer account AFAIK can do it.

You will have to contact the installer.

Luxpower SNA5000WPV Battery Charging and Discharging
Firmware update seems to have fixed this.

Luxpower SNA5000WPV Battery Charging and Discharging
We have two of these in parallel with two batteries in parallel. A while back one had to be replaced and now the battery charging and discharging scenarios puzzle me. During load shedding only one inverter discharges the batteries. And when there is PV during load shedding you can have one inverter charge the batteries while the other discharges the batteries??? However, on AC they share the load, including charging the battery. When the inverter that discharges the battery reaches 5000W it can go into support mode, and the other inverter will now quite happily discharge the battery unless of course the load doesn't drop fast enough, or it will also go into support mode (this happened today). My only guess is that there is a firmware mismatch. I've checked battery sharing, discharge settings for both inverters and they are the same. I have even put the battery comms cable in the other inverter but the inverter doing the discharging stays the same.
