When I looked at several articles on the web, there are 2 theories that come up : 1. If you discharge a battery from 100% to 90% and then charge back to 100%, it’s considered a cycle. I am in the same boat - also want to install solar. I read this article on Sunsynk/Deye inverters pulling power from the grid which costs you -so that is a concern to me. Mohammed, just received a quote here in Pretoria for 10x 450 JA solar panels, 5KW Deye Hybrid Inverter, 2 x Shoto 5,1 KWH Lithium Batteries, fully installed or around R144k (31 Oct. 2022). A lot of money indeed and I wonder if the savings on the electr bill will be worth it.

Hi Scorp007 ---- In the drawing above, it shows the EARTH bar and Neutral in the DB. Is that a separate Earth and Neutral bar or the existing ones where the house is currently wired to. I also connected my Axpert Inverter to my house DB and I wired the Earth wire output into the existing Earth bar in the DB to connect it to all other Earths [Common]. The Neutral bar is not connected to other Neutrals of the house, otherwise the Earth Leakage trips. The Neutral and Live output from the inverter is dedicated to the plugs the inverter carries and do not touch any other wires in the DB. Just want to make sure I understand how you did yours ?

Hi Guys I have read just about every topic on Geysers, solar, etc. I am in the same boat as many of you. The electricity costs are just too high these days. This Geyserwise PTC DC element is actually very nice. Have a 150L Kwikot geyser and was wondering - Will it be possible to drive this DC PTC element directly from a 48 Li-ion battery bank and then just charge the battery from 220V ? No solar involved. Surely the charge current will be less than the current directly being consumed by the element ?
