Inverter drawing power from batteries during peak hours sunny day
Hello, After setting up my solar PV system (4.5kW), I observed a strange behavior with my inverter (MPP Solar PIP6048MT 48v). During the day, when it is sunny and the PV panels are in the peak production, generating more than enough for my current loads (not more than 250W), at some point the inverter starts drawing power from the batteries, at the same time as from the panels. Then when the batteries go down below a certain voltage (around 51 volts), the inverter starts to charge the battery bank up again, and it shows on display that the power is provided back from the PV panels to the loads exclusively. And then after the batteries reach something like 52.4 volts, the whole process starts again. Could this be an inverter setting that I mistakenly configured ? I have 4xPYLONTECH US3000C LiFePO batteries bank, Prog#5 set to PYL, and inverter communicating correctly through the BMS cable. Any advice on what should I be looking for or inverter setting change to prevent this for happening, it will be much appreciated. And to mention that I switched between all possible combination in Prog#2 SUB, SBU, UTI. Same thing happens under any of these settings. Thank you. Best Regards.

Wind to supplement a Goodwe Inverter
Hello, @Venom, I was actually thinking about this solution myself. It is like adding a parallel string of PV solar panels on the inverter`s input, together with the actual PV solar array. It is like having two parallel solar arrays connected (which of course one is the wind turbine), from which, both will work during the day (sun + wind maybe), and only one will keep on working during the night (wind only) when there is no more sun but there is enough wind speed to produce the necessary wattage to keep the batteries charged. The only problem is that, and this is based on my current humble knowledge in wind turbines, the wind turbine has 3 wires, and those wires should go in a special regulator first, in order to have that DC down to a correct and relatively stable voltage. And the problem is that, if the wind regulator output is only between 52v to 53v or maybe a little bit higher depending on the model, that voltage will not trigger the inverter`s MMPT module and algorithm that will transform DC-to-DC and charge the batteries. Just an idea and my two cents for the current case. Other opinions are more than welcome. Thank you !!! Regards, Sorin

MPP Solar PIP6048MT inverter - Not reading/not reporting correct PV voltage and wattage in the morning
Hello Forum Colleagues, Long story short, this has happened/has been happening to me for a while now, with two different inverter models, from two different producers --> hybrid MPP Solar PIP6048MT 6kW, the one that I have now installed in my PV system, and the previous hybrid inverter from Powland 5kW (exact model does not matter now), that I have replaced. In the morning (between 8AM - 10 AM), the inverter does not see the real & correct PV panels voltage & wattage and keeps on pulling energy from battery to power the loads, even if the battery is 100% charged (PYLONTECH US3000C - 1 unit) from the utility during the night, and I know for sure that the panels produce enough to cover my current home loads/appliances at that specific hour in the morning. Which by the way, the consumption is below 250Watts/hour during the night and until the early morning. So, I have to cycle the inverter at least once or twice before the MPPT module kicks in as it should, and the voltage/wattage production is displayed properly. I even tried to "combine" the different settings available from prog. 2 and prog. 16, which are the source for powering the loads, and the charger source priority respectively. Nothing appears to be working from what I have tried, and I have to do the same thing each and every morning, when I want to switch from the utility/the grid, to the PV system. Is this related to an incorrect setting or a combination of settings that I might missed ? The inverter has a 500 volts VoC, and the MPPT voltage range is between 60v and 450v. My current PV configuration is formed of 12 panels in series (375W from Canadian Solar), so around 4,500Watts theoretical capacity. I would like to mention that my intention at some point is to add more PYL batteries (at least 2 or 3 similar units) and go totally off-grid/no utility power, and I am currently still in the process of testing the system. But I do not want to have to cycle the inverter each and every morning, to kick-start the MPPT module. Anyone else that experienced the same problem and can bring some light ? Any additional information that I might have missed or useful advice, would be more than welcome and much appreciated. Thank you in advance !!! Regards, Sorin
