  2. Great, sounds like option 2 is the way to go. After shopping around a bit a I managed to find panels, if mounted horizontally, would allow me to fit 7 on the cottage summing up to about 3.8kw. I really appreciate the input, thank you!
  3. Hi Everyone, This is my first post. My name is Brett. Pleasure to meet you all. I currently have an 8kw Sunsynk inverter with 2 Sunsynk 5.32kwh batteries just running as backup. I installed it myself quite recently with the intention to add solar panels as soon as the inverter was up and running. Thus far everything has gone well and this forum has been a major help with a plethora of information available. However, I have a question now that's quite specific to my use case and I'm hoping some of you with experience could shed some light on it. I plan to use 14 540w solar panels. My house does not face perfectly north. Its about North West (318deg heading). See attached birds eye view. I have two possible options for mounting my solar panels: Mount all panels onto the main house facing North West. 7 panels on each MPPT. Mount 9 panels onto main house and 5 on Cottage facing North East (Cant really fit more than 5). So 9 panels on one MPPT and 5 on the other. The math checks out. The cottage roof gets really good morning sun and the main house get really good afternoon sun. This should give me a more even production throughout the day right? My thinking is that the batteries will be low from the previous night so the earlier you can get sun onto the panels the better. I want to prevent using power from the grid as much as possible. What do you guys think?
